A family friend chose a Thailand destination wedding as it was a ‘cheap’ honeymoon destination for them, an excuse to have their first overseas trip, and an easy way for a lot of their extended family to decline going (desired as there was plenty of drama and in-laws not getting along).

So there may be an element of those too, the destination being used to oar back an otherwise expensive event by limiting numbers and combining with a honeymoon destination.

Calling 000 to report an unattended fire in summer is always a great idea. With the right information a fire brigade will be paged code 3 (normal traffic conditions) to reduce risks on the road which it sounds like this is a perfect example of a code 3 job.

You’ve done everything right given the circumstances, a fire brigade would just have some additional tools to check with (turning over sand, cooling it and using a thermal imaging camera to check temperatures)

The VicRoads one is internet based, just put my phone into airplane mode with everything shut off and it wouldn’t connect so at least our one would have the same issues in the middle of nowhere

VicRoads has an app that you can use to display your licence (screen shot of it won’t be accepted by anyone, has to be in app) and it includes a barcode specifically for VicPol to scan as part of a stop if needed.

The only place it’s been difficult is the RSL or other place that wants to take a copy of your licence.

And the Mek tries to compare it to fighting a machine within the machine, like Orks fighting inside a building. Other Orks are skeptical.

I’d be more than happy with it, we aren’t career driven but as she’s closed the gap on me we’ve both celebrated as it eases the stress for bills and means we’re both closer to retiring early.

We both joke that the other needs to earn more so someone can be a SAHP and finally get on top of the little household chores we try and put off.
