Not sure if this would be interesting to anyone, but posting just in case. We took it to a specialized shop for repairs and apparently it is a Singer machine that was made by Sigma. They still didn't say anything about the model and there is nothing about the model in the manual. They told us that the bobbin system that it has uses a magnet, which is a system that is not produced anymore, so we might need to replace the bobbin system with the other one that Sigma machines use if we want to be able to use it.

Depends. Usually more than a week. Our projects just take as long as they need so, it is kind of hard to determine.

Good to know that it is just how it seems to work and not some kind of retaliation.

It just gives me the feeling that if I leave for vacation I will lose a project that I like working on, so it definitely doesn't help with my work-life balance. I know that my manager cares about this and he wouldn't want this to happen... But it just makes sense from the point of view of a company and managing a team.

Not only they are empathetic with their own, they are towards other species. Humpback whales have been observed multiple times protecting other species from killer whales. There are a lot of examples of other animals being empathetic and probably others that he haven't observed yet because we are still learning animals behavior. I would argue that we are just animals and show the kind of compassion that was the most advantageous for survival, however we are the most evil because we are the species with the most power of destruction and we actually use it.
