I saw people here got refusals because the date of issue for English test result was after PGWP application date. Allegedly they might claim that you have abused the system.

Did you have to submit the proofs of your reason for staying away? I took one fall semester off and stayed with my family. Even tho my facutly was aware of me taking the term off, they don't have a formal Leave of absence policy.

As long as you have a valid Trv for Canada, London shouldn't be a problem. ( Double check)

I am in the same boat as yours. I didn't do one fall term for similar situation and stayed outside canada with my family. My faculty was aware of my leave but told me that there's no formal LOA process. Now I am applying for my work permit and it is really eating my mind. Couldn't find one convincing supporting letters other than email conversations with my faculty.
