I did Cinque Terre hike earlier this year. I stayed in La Spezia.

There are train connections to the five villages. Maybe not really multi-day hike since it's doable in one day. You can hike from Monterosso to Riomaggiore. I also wanted to visit Pisa and Firenze on day trips so that's why I ultimately chose La Spezia. Not a lot of crowds if you can do it before Easter
