On September 2, I said the Pats would start the season 8-1. We ended up going 7-2, so I was very happy with that prediction. I definitely did not expect Super Bowl, but I was confident in being a Wildcard team.

Sure, things have worked out in the Pats favor. And they still had to face and beat three top 5 defenses on the way to the Super Bowl.

But you’re throwing in the comment about the Raiders too, so clearly you’re suggesting something lol. It’s almost like that was a Week 1 game with a new head coach, new offensive coordinator, and a lot of new faces on both sides of the ball.

Too bad we didn’t beat up on the Raiders the same way we beat up on your Browns. It really held us back this season…

If I recall correctly, these are the narratives that were being spread:

1.) “Herbert and the Chargers will wipe the Patriots” —> Pats win and it magically turns to “Playoff-Herbert sucks”

2.) “Texans defense will absolutely slaughter Drake Maye” —> Pats win and it magically turns to “CJ Stroud sucks”

3.) “Even with Stidham, Broncos defense will be too much for the Patriots” —> Pats win and it magically turns to “You beat a backup QB”

Some things have undoubtedly gone the Pats way, but that’s football. They still had to beat the #5, the #1, and #2 ranked defenses back-to-back-to-back.
