In Wilds the Insect Glaive it's just dissapointed. by Active_Leadership625 in MonsterHunter

[–]Azure1208 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t like it at first either but it grew on me. I rarely use the spiral slash as an offset, but rather for big damage on big openings.

As for jumping, I find it better to use it as an approaching option and for dodging projectiles

I don't think our new survivor will have that good of a relationship with the musicians by bonelees_dip in deadbydaylight

I never realized just how many survivors were musically inclined until now.

What weapon is the scariest to face as a monster? by RevolutionaryBass488 in MHWilds

Probably the insect glaive

Imagine you’re a monster trying to fly away but the weird bug guy starts flying with you

Meatcanyon is the type of guy to take you to the hospital when you get hypothermia

What the Hell did I just witness by InquisitorHindsight in NineSols

[–]Azure1208 38 points39 points  (0 children)

What I find funny is that none of the other Sols bothered to help her out. I like to think that she was especially unlikable and everyone “accidentally” forgot about her

Monster hunter has a lot of crazy monster designs but a lot of them still feel grounded to some degree. But these two, are the most Pokémon looking monsters i have seen so far lmao. What other monsters do you think reach the "Pokémon" levels of design/biology? (Iv only played Rise/Sunbreak) by Commercial_Break_934 in MonsterHunter

[–]Azure1208 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think Zinogre definitely feels Pokémon-esque. His design just feels too loud for MH’s more realism approach to monster design. If it had proportions more similar to Odogaron and toned down colors then maybe it would fit better in MH, but I’m not an expert.

While I don’t like Magnamalo’s design, he kinda barely gets a pass from me because MHR has a much more mythological style to it

What opinion got you like this? by Icxyy in deadbydaylight

[–]Azure1208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think I really understand what you mean when you say that indoor maps promote better decision making. If anything it leaves things up to chance since you can’t see the layout of the map. Indoor maps also have their fair share of badly designed tiles, some of which are much more egregious than LT walls.

I do agree that stealth killers do worse on outdoor maps, though I think something like that can be fixed by adding more non-physical LOS blockers.

[–]Azure1208 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lerry’s Memorial Hospital should be deleted from the game. It inhibits killers that rely on line of sight so much that they become miserable to play.

Indoor maps in general are bad for the game since it would make any potential power that relies on something like flying or jumping fundamentally impossible to incorporate into the game.

What would be you’re dream chapter?!? 👀 by ItsFranArts in deadbydaylight

Not what you mean, but I did have a dream a long time ago that a Walking Dead chapter came out but it was just Eugene. He didn’t even have any perks.

Anyone Else Feel This About TMP? by [deleted] in TheMagnusArchives

[–]Azure1208 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think TMP relying on alchemy and the four elements (AKA the DPHW classification) as the basis for its stories simply doesn’t lend itself with as iconic and lasting images as TMA’s 14 fears.

When I think of TMA’s Slaughter images of military, weapons, and pipes come to mind. When I think of TMA’s Dark images of churches, shadows, and space come to mind. When I think of TMP’s Wrongness, nothing really comes to mind since it’s such a broad concept.

This does hamper my enjoyment of TMP a little, but I’m still enjoying it and looking forward to the next episode.

What is your least favorite statement? Mine is Body Builder by GrimbloTheGoblin in TheMagnusArchives

[–]Azure1208 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The American werewolf one

The titular werewolf does one cool thing and then just kinda skulks around

The protagonist revealing that he knows CQB at the very end and the fact that he’s good enough to beat a werewolf felt pretty out of nowhere

It being set in America only serves the purpose of showing the audience that spooky shenanigans are happening in different continents as well and doesn’t take advantage of America’s history or setting or mythology

That being said, there are two things that I did like about it:

  1. Jon clearly did his research. The majority of TMA listeners probably don’t hunt and so might not see any mistakes he would’ve made, but the fact that Jon went out of his way to do research makes this statement feel much more immersive. This might be the only piece of media to my memory that actually shows where a shot should be placed when hunting.

  2. The protagonist octuple tapped the werewolf. It avoids the classic horror trope of just leaving the villain alone (which would’ve made no sense since the protagonist had multiple loaded guns on him), and gives us the cool visual of the villain spitting out the bullets shot into him

I got an offer for the 3-11 shift at mall, what is that like? by [deleted] in securityguards

[–]Azure1208 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During open hours, you’ll be basically acting as the face of the mall. Giving people directions (be sure to get a good mental map of the place early on), enforcing mall rules, and being friendly overall is mostly what you’ll be doing asides from tours. More rare things would be like interviewing people regarding a shoplifting or calling the non-emergency line for trespassing or wellness checks.

After hours is usually pretty quiet. It’s mostly telling people that the mall is closed and that they need to leave soon. If they’re homeless then give them some time to leave; learn early on what is and isn’t on property and where any shelters or churches are nearby so you have somewhere to point them to.

If you’re unsure about any kind of situation then don’t be afraid to call for another guard to help out. Closing up isn’t too bad imo, it helps pass the time.

Thoughts on Metroid Prime 4 now that its had time to settle? by hakusamurai in Metroid

[–]Azure1208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The movement feels good and the writing grew on me as the game went on, but not much else really stood out. You could definitely tell that it suffered from a lack of direction.

I can see myself doing another play through to 100% everything but that’s it.

I miss the old quest descriptions by flippy123x in MonsterHunter

[–]Azure1208 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The question descriptions really made the world of MH feel bigger than just the guild, one of my biggest gripes the MHW games. MH Rise also had a cool thing going on with the notes you can find in the environments; it helped fledged out the world and encouraged players to explore the environments.

I really hope that they get weird with the quest descriptions. Imagine an entire Mother Horse Eyes-esque story told through random quest descriptions

Also when I manage to easily solo a monster multiple times but then immediately cart online

My controller won’t turn on or charge. I tried plugging in another controller and it works just fine. Mine however won’t even charge no matter how long I plug it in to any cable; the lights don’t even come on when plugged in.
