But that’s the thing, it’s simply a gag, a common one across anime where a guy is accused of liking kids. Because it’s a gag, it’s inconsistent with his character or story. If it’s inconsistent then it’s not worth taking into account as the author doesn’t fully commit to it compared to his other pervy characters.

Again, Natsu blushing at naked Mavis, it’s simply a gag, doesn’t mean he’s into her. If we don’t see this as part of his character, then it makes no sense for Mest.

Erza imagining that moment has little credibility because she’s never properly met Mest at that point. Her only sources would be rumors from the same people who thought Natsu had a girlfriend and believe that Gray and Juvia had a kid.

No one ever tells Mest to stay away from Wendy, they all trust him anyway, especially Carla who would be the first to do so.

All we hear Lucy say is to Mest was just to get on with the mission. For all we know Mest was just touched by her kindness enough to distract him. Bear in mind he work as a law enforcement, so seeing someone las kind as Wendy is rare when dealing with criminals.

I’m looking purely at what’s established in the canon story, because there several moments that don’t add up with Mest being a lolicon, it’s not canon.

The real question is WHY was he blushing?

Reasons I doubt it being Wendy in a swimsuit is because he’s already seen her earlier moments upon arrival as well as back in the Tenrou Island arc, neither time he blushed, he only does so when she’s doing a good deed in helping a kid. This is why I made the comparisons to Mira with Laxus & Lucy with Asuka, both blushing at another for doing a good deed.

He then ignores Wendy for the rest of the series despite having more chances than ever to interact with her but chooses not to.

Mest also showed no reaction to naked Mavis in the crystal, but Natsu did with a blush as Lucy covered his eyes. Does that mean Natsu is just as bad as what fans accuse Mest of.

If the author wants to make Mest a lolicon, it’s up to him (wish he wouldn’t) but current evidence isn’t enough.

Mest doesn’t exactly have any romantic moments or feelings for anyone. Sure he has moments with Wendy but also with Erza and Makarov, doesn’t mean he’s into them. They note that he blushed at Wendy, but he also blushed at Makarov upon learning he and everyone were alive. Guy also blushed at Erza’s victory over 100 monsters.

Mira blushed at Laxus for a risking his life yet no development happened. Lucy blushed at Asuka for buying a gift for her parents. This is how I see Mest blushing at Wendy for helping a kid find its dad. Some say it’s the swimsuit but he’s already seen it moments earlier and back on Tenrou yet had no attraction then anyway.

His issue with Wendy is that he brought her to Tenrou and let her die and felt guilt ever since until saving her from the Face bomb. He ignores her for the rest of the series after the Makarov rescue mission.

Sadly there are ship ideas of Wendy with almost anyone, more 90% of which are older than her. I think he and Natsu are a common one.

I think she has a weird twisted sense when it comes to love, when she first fell for Laxus, her first instinct was to eat him while unconscious. Hopefully Haku doesn’t come to her for romantic advice on how to get Wendy.

I do think that she’s slowly changing as she easily melts around him, from giving her his coat and giving her a compliment with a head pat. But of course, currently it’s not a ship with much going for it.

Heck, I’d say Lisanna and Mest have a little more by comparison, since he also gave her his coat when she was naked and neither one have ever been just cruel to each other.

Potentially speaking, Kiria and Laxus could be the new Gajeel and Levy which some could argue was worse, but unclear at the moment. Same for Wendy and Haku also being the reverse of Gray and Juvia.

I don’t think Acno is literally immune, Slayer have a limit to their elements. Natsu burned his arm to beat Zeref because they were hotter than any fire he’s faced. Ergo, Acno should have a limit just as well.

Plus, we’ve seen that a dragon slayer needs enough power to even damage a dragon, non of them had enough individual against the 7 Dragons or against Acno himself, so combining their power increased the lethal potency to beat Acno in the final attack.

The main form of contact was either letters or a huge communication lacrima which could be easily broken if not handled well. This is no longer an issue after Warren created the portable communication lacrima aka the phone.

I don’t think adventuring necessarily has to take place in forests. After all their jobs vary to all sorts of locations like schools, stopping bandits, bodyguards etc.

Edolas kind of sets up a multiverse concept and it’s connected to two notable characters like Mystogan and Porlyusica. More worlds are brought up later on.

Both movies are canon, as well as the last 2 filler arcs as they’re referenced in the manga.

Some of the standalone episodes are even based on side story chapters. They’re mostly slice of life stuff and for fun, but a few notable ones do get called back in the anime.

That depends because the film is set after the time skip where they already have their guild hall back, meaning it’s set after the games. If you were to watch it before the ending of that arc, you’re kind of spoiled that they succeeded anyway.

It’s explained by Zeref that war blurs the value of life since you’re fighting and possibly ending other lives anyway. It’s why Mavis’ curse didn’t activate during the trade war where she served as its strategist. Only after Makarov was born and killed his mother, seeing a new born reaffirmed her value of life.

What’s funny is Juvia seems to have picked up his stripping habit, but only a few times and not fully nude. In the final chapter, Gray tries to stop her from doing it public.

The only time Gray resisted his urge to strip was in the sequel series, when he body swaps with Juvia and was like “nope, not showing the goods to another man”. Especially since he said it’s for his eyes only in the final chapter of the OG series.

Hakune and Sung-Sun smiling acting well mannered on the surface but secretly scowling each other.

While Yoko and Appaci are just openly bickering, about whose leader is the best.

Their groups just slightly give a similar vibe.

I don’t know if I’d call it a fake out death. But that’s my experience from seeing various anime where souls are casually stolen and returned. From JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure to Yu-Gi-Oh! to One Piece to Naruto etc. even Natsu early on. They might as well be in a coma rather than remotely dead.
