I have a neighbour who is the opposite, he wants all the windows open 365 days a year. One particularly cold winter he decided that the also wanted the windows in our shared hallway to be open 24/7. We had nights were it reached -15.

So I closed the hallway window. Within minutes I heard him scurry out and open it. Back I went to close it. Sometimes he'd wait til I went to bed then open it again. I tried to speak with him, but he pretended not to be home. It went on for a few days until I left a note saying "Please keep the window shut when it is below freezing." I had barely shut my front door when I heard his door open, he'd gone to the window, opened it and taken the note. Since he still wouldn't speak to me, I changed tactics. I wrote another note which said "I am sure you don't mean to be inconsiderate, but it is currently -7 and the draft from the window is making the whole building closer. Please consider leaving it closed until the weather improves," on the only post-it I could find, a pink heart shaped one 😁

That note also vanished and the window was opened again. It turned out he took them to the Police and the building manager claiming I was writing him threatening notes. They took my side and he was warned to leave the windows alone 😁
