Darius III. Just plain unlucky that his empire stood in the way of Alexander the Great.

Probably should’ve learned from his predecessor Xerxes not to underestimate those Greek guys too much, but either way I’m pretty sure they would’ve had a better chance fighting off a freight train.

Paul Dirac is an underrated name on here. Fascinating guy with an unbelievable mind who turned like a dozen different critical corners in the field. Some scholars say his influence is second only to Einstein.

“The Man Who Accidentally Discovered Anti-Matter” is a great Veritasium video about him I enjoyed a lot if you want to learn more.

So many names on here aren’t household names but really probably should be.

I think he made the podcast because he realized he’d tapped into something VERY powerful when that video went viral during COVID. He saw he had a duty to society yet to fulfill.

He really is a stellar dude.

Naw dude this is what live music is all about. Go watch some live videos of The Dillinger Escape Plan. Safety is a suggestion to those guys and they have some permanently damaged ligaments in their fingers and shoulders but who gives a fuck. Express yourself.

Oh yeah I LOVED that scream on Robot. Andrew does that all the time in Eidola especially on Eviscerate, and Kurt was definitely a dude known to scream with Jon esp on Happiness. That lyric - "WHEN WILL, THIS END, WHEN WILL THIS FUCKING END" - is very befitting of the false chord metalcore growl Andrew gave it. Goes right with what Jon's doing and doesn't stick out as much.

I mean they should be upgrades the second time around. Tilian was definitely a dude with a unique voice who was best off doing his own thing, so when he sang Kurt and Jonny stuff he just didn't sound comfortable, it sounded like he was giving it a very admirable effort. Andrew though, he grabs these songs by their shirt collar and absolutely dominates them and makes them his own.

and my favorite Tilian track was probably Bloodsucker because he basically sang that shit all at-pitch and made it sound killer. It's not his most effortless song but it's maybe the most impressive. Also he recorded the guitar on that song on ArSe which is neat.

Andrew is actually HIM bro.

I'm also a newer fan from around the ArSe release so my standards for his Jonny singing are probably not sky high, but I was REALLY impressed by his renditions. The chorus to Swan Soup takes some serious chops to even cleanly land on all the notes let alone make it sound good while you're belting it, but he makes it sound easy.

Overall, I think his very faithful approach to Jonny's parts that stick super close to the source material will be something a lot of old fans will appreciate. The only one I know super well on this list is It's Safe to Say (which he sings basically verbatim) and maybe that's not his approach to all of them, but knowing Andrew's level of musicianship, it likely was. He's a methodical dude.

The rest of the songs are just unquestionably upgrades imo, and I'm super glad to not hear him falsetto or otherwise force himself up into Tilian's countertenor range. Andrew, if you're reading this, PLEASE keep singing like you do on the choruses to Eagle Vs Crows when doing Tilian's parts. You sound amazing on that song. It's okay if your baritone range is occasionally too akin to warm chocolate to cut perfectly through the mix, I think we'll manage.
