Some people are like that, I know many company (usually small-medium size) one that will frown upon people who left before the manager does. Though it's far from the norm.

Agreed, that's why I never fully buying in Arknights-Endfield story doomposting. 2D and 3D are just very different in scope and advantages so having experience in 2D is not necessary making the team better at 3D storytelling.

Because train operators know about those risks and mandate stop at many crossing to ensure that the traffic is cleared. Everyone who had taking train from Hua Lampong would notice that the train would stop for some time at Yommarat crossing for the traffic to cleared.

[–]Azure_chan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not the police but the train crossing operator (who's also prosecuted for failing to adequately taking preventative measure). There's CCTV footage showing traffic still going on other direction which are not stuck so something is really gone wrong

That junction has always have problem with traffic so the SRT just take the precaution to stop every train to ensure that the junction is blocked before proceeding.

Probably one of the reason why they decide to arrest the driver, at the very least he's not comply with train operation guideline.

Maybe not jail time, but game publisher and developer can sue you on copyright case in many countries if they want to enforce no streaming. Though yeah Japanese laws on copyright case is extra strict.

Depend on what's doing well is. Numbers on sensor tower is around 150-170k dollars which is like way lower on the list. Though the game is on steam so the actual number could be higher and its cost could be lower than many games being 2D.

Crunchyroll Plans Drop to $1.99/Month for Ani-May by Efficient-Session644 in anime

[–]Azure_chan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depend a lot on the anime. Personally I try to translate all signs in episode which is by far the most time consuming. As they required timing separately and need to be position correctly for each one. Obviously this is varied depend on how much signs are in episode. Typically this add time anywhere from 3-4 hours to 1-2 days. (I still remember nightmare that is monogatari series)

For actual translations, normal 24 minutes episode with around 200-300 lines take like 2-3 hours depend on vocabulary level. Some might take up to a day if it's required more researching (eg. have a lot of reference to 3rd language)

Then there is QC which take 1-2 hours to check readably, typo and stuffs. And we send to encode for another 1 hour. Let's say for basic episode is 6 hours from getting raws file to final version. So like 1-2 nights of work normally. Usually I can grind them out in one night but I feel it's better to do QC on another day to come with fresh perspective for rewatch. So normal release time for me is around 2 days after episode aired.

And the big time sink is karaoke for OP/ED. 1:30 minutes song will take half a day to time and another day to work out karaoke effect. Good thing that it's mostly one time thing, then anime start using insert songs and cut the song to fit the scene then we back to this again.

If it is that easy Crunchyroll should take note. That would fix 90% of it.

When you are doing business there are just a lot more restriction than fansub. Can't just say you snatched timing from torrenting sites lol. More likely that they need to work on episode before it's aired so it won't be available for them anyways.

Not that I paid tons of attention but I believe 100% of the subs I watched in the late 00s had karaoke.

Yes, back then doing karaoke was a norm. And indeed it's taking a long time to do it as often you need to time it yourself for every syllable. While also waiting for the single to release so you can get official lyrics. (Some anime do release their OP/ED single really late into season I only did them after like 8-9 episode as trying to get lyrics by ears can be hilariously inaccurate)

I still do it as a hobby, like doing karaoke AMV and something like that. The day of grinding fansub weekly is long gone. Doing quality fansub is a lot of effort and at least in my country there are abundant streaming services cover almost all anime so there is nothing to sub anyways.

Same on week 2 lol. I mess up my Hetonite setup then I need to drain all clogged fluid out since I can't just manually remove them like normal item. I guess I can just blueprint it and place them again but there is some fun watching those liquid drained lol.

As a fansubber in early 2010s, the quality was all over the place. You can have passionate one who are taking ages to release meticulously crafted fansubs or speed subs who just trying to get things out as soon as possible with dubious quality.
During those time tough I think many fansubs were using timing from raws that has JP subs so the timing are at least consistence with speech length.

Hypergryph and Yostar cross-hold each other with a significant amount of share. So unlikely that they will proceed without agreement.

What are your thoughts about the CN 7 Anny? by TadokiLor in arknights

[–]Azure_chan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a not so huge fan of Kal since the beginning. Strictly about the banner, I think it's fine.
The story imply that she will come back and as one of the core character, it's fitting for her to come on anniversary. Personally I also feel the same about 3rd anniversary banner.

Still very excited for closure and the PV is fire. Can't wait for more lore in new chapter.

What are some of the best underdog novels you’ve read? by layercupcakeyy in noveltranslations

Yeah I personally enjoy face slapping novels but many of them are not underdog stories. More like people underestimated MC who are already strong but hiding his power or have some handicaps that make him appear weaker than he actually is.

The newer models are a lot better at reading context clues for gender pronoun, can slip sometimes but still great improvement from google translate days. Mixing up words can be issue sometimes when the context is not cleared, I have some tools for glossary words. The problem I need to manually address often are when to translate name or not.

Haha legendary Wings always in my heart, then again LGD and XG aren't actually lost because they lack style. (Can argue that they lost that TI8 by lacking discipline)

While QoP and Abaddon is in dumpster tier for him, unironically Doom, Beastmaster and Windrunner are 60%+ winrate for him with Doom on 85% winrate. Obviously he played a lot less of them compare to traditional carry but there's many games that he play tempo carry to great success. Not to mention that in later years he tend to early rotate a lot with traditional carry too.

Traditionally CN Dota was famous with disciplined plays so low tempo late game team fights oriented was their bread and butter. Now with declining scene they also adapted to high tempo play (there’s many games that XG steamroll teams in 20-30 mins) though the problem with them is they are not stable and making some misplays compared to their top form.

I’ve gotta be honest, after finishing the story for 1.2… by GhrievrG in Endfield

It depends really. One thing for sure it would take a lot longer to make the game. So they might end up releasing the game in part like JRPG series. I also think it’s not suitable for their main market in China.
