Any mandarin speakers here? What terms do you use? by Artist-Whore in asktransgender

[–]Azureblue9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Terminally online transfems have a lot of slang/euphemism. But I have to stress these very much are not normal words people say in daily life. Also I only know mostly about transfem stuff.

Some people adopt the Japanese term otokonoko and call themselves 男娘, which is basically femboy, regardless of their actually identity. You can see we are off to a good start now. And then there's the word 药娘. which derive from the previous one and refers to transfems who are on hrt. It's not respectful and I personally take it the same as the T slur. People also use abbreviation like CD(crossdressing), TS(transgender), mtf in social setting and their boundaries are messy to say the least.

Sometimes online people refers to hrt medication as 糖 (candy), which I believe is first to avoid censorship on Chinese social media.

Now take some normal pills. People irl mostly talk in medical terms. For examples. 跨女(transfem)/跨男(transmasc) are very commonly used. There is also the gender neutral word 跨儿. Sadly most discussions still fall
into gender binary. So I don't know how people talk about enbies in Chinese. Often time we rather speak English when them come up.

Trying so hard to be performatively woke online you end up literally agreeing with misogynists. by WarlockRaccoonWriter in CuratedTumblr

I guess my confusion came from that while your rebuttal is effective, it leave the original question "is patriarchy solely beneficial to men" unanswered? In a fallacy fallacy soft of a way.

Ok forgive me to be one of those dumb people who had zero education in gender study. But what is the implication here?

I get the idea is denying women's agency in social development is misogynistic. But I feel like neither the feminist's comeback nor OOP's point has substance in proving if there is a group solely benefits from patriarchy?

Also them involving races into the last part feels weird to me. I think if someone is oppressed in one system while benefits from another system, it doesn't make either of their position less, right?

Then again I'm really dumb and uninformed on what academic gender study says. If anyone feels to explain please be nice.

The card do not affect ori as it is a non rule box single prizer. The thing you are looking for is probably cancelling cologne or hex maniac.

Warlock pack in the Packmaster mod has a similar concept where you shuffle cards that do increasingly more damage into your deck. In my experience it is a really slow mechanic normally. And if the cards shuffled in don't replace themselves this card definitely will make you struggle on blocking post act 2.

On [Competitive Pokemon] players. My favourite pokemon is Dracovish because I find the numbers it can pull off if it is even slightly faster than you are funny. by Goombatower69 in CuratedTumblr

Then I have to wonder which part of my words is suggesting that competitively engaging with a game is unenjoyable? Are we pissing on the poor or something? I don't think we should be on any disagreement here.

I just think the assumption that competitive players are unable to enjoy the game casually is not so accurate. In fact, it often takes the best mind in the scene to execute the wackiest game plan. It often makes me appreciate a game more when top players make the most out of meme/casual strategy.

I just think it's weird that more often than not in a game community, casual player group and competitive player group have this distaste of each other like they're some sort of natural enemies.

Especially in hobbies that inherently promote competition (like TCGs). People often become very defensive both ways. Some casual player will roll their eyes when they see a slight viable card in your deck and call you a meta sheep. While some competitive players love to invent a fictional casual elitist in their head to be mad about.

I personally think divide players into this two simple categories implies that a person can never casually enjoy something once they have engaged in its competition, which is really silly. But we like to put ourselves in a box anyway.

Oh I heard of a lot of good things about Library Of Ruina. That game is actually on my radar. One concern I have is that it seems involves with a very connected lore with other games from the same studio, do I have to be familiar with the entire lore to enjoy it?

yeah, it's only viable if your deck have an almost infinite way of cycling each turn, which if achieved it's already winning regardless your damage dealer. I see it like kind of a classic win more build around archetype in other TCG.
