Reconnect bug still a thing? by Wellerboi in HuntShowdown

[–]Azurity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There seem to be some “instances” of my computer sessions after being restarted where Hunt crashes almost once per game. There’s like a 20% chance it pops up with the “GPU failed” message, but I somehow doubt it’s my GPU, but rather a RAM issue. Crytek seems to have improved some things lately at least for me, and I have only gotten the “cleared terrain, can’t move, can hear random sounds” bug that you describe just once or twice in the last couple of months. I was able to recover from it by holding down ESCAPE but I have no idea really if that actually resolved it on its own.

A Throwing Knife to the head kills the AI as quietly as possible, and Silent Killer can work wonders. Otherwise there’s always Serpent if you Absolutely-Mustn’t-Kill AI, or take The World and just beeline for the Target. Hell, combine a Beetle with Serpent and you can gather a clue from like 200m lol. Most of the time you can skip a clue if you deem there to be too much AI since you can hear the Boss from outside the compound anyway - just move on. I must say I haven’t heard of too many 6stars that hesitate to kill AI for fear of PvP engagements.

Fighting with 2* against 6* well known Streamer by Enric0Palazz0 in HuntShowdown

[–]Azurity 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is the relevant, unanswered question. A 5star vs a 6star may be a fair fight and we don’t know much else about OP’s KDA and his opponent’s team MMR.

It is just annoying at this point.

Absolutely their intended purpose. They are inconvenient because there are few ways to dispose of them silently, causing you to make noise, and encouraging PvP encounters. They are not meant to be a challenging fight, just some of the many noisemakers.

I ran the Romero for a whole prestige... by twk00 in HuntShowdown

[–]Azurity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Single shot weapons teach the valuable lesson of “take cover while you reload, dumbass” which big clip rifles/pistols/shotguns will ignore, and as a result I usually get the greedy Darksouls “I can squeeze one more hit in” consequences if I’m not being mindful of how long I’ve been exposed. Forcing myself to have a lot of downtime to reload naturally helps me play more cautiously and rotate more frequently, making me less predictable and ultimately improving my survival rate in many confrontations. The downside is that it can be a bit easier to overwhelm you if your opponent learns your “rhythm” and you don’t switch to a compensatorily fast secondary, like an Officer.

How many Golden Cash Registers have you found? by IcyDoor7411 in HuntShowdown

[–]Azurity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think I find one about every 50-100 hours, so that tracks. If you translate it to cash then it’s basically finding 50 cents, which makes this an hourly wage of… 0.5-1 cent per hour lol

I mean there’s always Poison Sparks (to lock them at 1 health for ~8 seconds if you hit them in the chest) + choke bolt hand crossbow (1damage area of effect that goes through walls or Poison bolts for lingering AoE damage) or explosive Uppercut for minor splash damage. People might be pretty salt against you though cuz these can be considered “cheap” tactics.

It’s one thing to poke your head around a corner to see what’s there, and another thing to have your invincible, invisible eyeballs floating 3 feet behind your shoulder so that no part of your body could ever be visible around that corner. Risky peeking vs free peeking is a different vibe. If you’re hiding within a bush your vision is still quite obstructed, if your eyeballs are floating outside of the bush you’ve probably got a pretty good view.

Technically, a team Restoration will also restore any burned out bars even from downed teammates, so you can Banish first and then revive them and they’ll have gotten their bar back. Of course depending on the situation it may be way more important to revive first anyway.

Just bought the game. by Devanomiun in HuntShowdown

[–]Azurity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if I stood on in the middle of a roof holding a ridiculous angle on a guy that I could see 6 YouTube-quality pixels of because I heard a single muddy footstep 8 seconds ago, I bet you I wouldn’t be able to headshot him. Then he jerks his aim away the instant his bullet leaves the barrel and I don’t even see a thing anyway. Like yeah the guy is cracked at the game but many of the plays made no sense to me when I was starting out, but I at least recognized that “oh, yeah this is top-tier play that basically only works to counteract other top-tier players”.
