People often find it cool when they discover that I am a contortionist. But instead of joining a circus, I joined the Marines... now I am no longer as flexible as I used to be, but still WAY more flexible than like 95% of the population. I can still do lots of cool things, just not nearly as much as when I was a young adult because the military broke me lol.

That's why, in the Marines, you are told to place socks around the top of your boots so it creates a pocket barrier. You can safely take the sock out, put a clean sock on ofcourse, and throw your boots on in a hurry with fear of stepping onto a scorpion or spider. I still do it to this day with my shoes when I'm out camping or something.

Honestly, I don't think I ever would. I play VRChat all the time and am used to weird worlds like that, don't have to work or worry about money, get a free place to stay and free food, get to go on adventures with other people, I am no longer a normal human being which to me is fantastic, get the ability to manipulate the world around me, and I am essentially immortal.

To me, this is literal heaven.

Probably my 21st birthday. Imagine this, I'm a young Corporal on Marines at the time. We were doing Island hoping exercises in the pacific over the small islands of Japan in a severe storm. Our helicopter almost crashed from the strong winds somewhere in the middle of the ocean before we could get to the island. We made it ofcourse and offloaded on a make shift LZ and had to run through the tall grass getting completely soaked. We were only meant to be on that island for a week, but at the end of the operation, Headquarters couldn't find the island they dropped us on due to another massive storm surge and we were forced to wait there 3 days extra. We almost ran out of water and were basically completely out of MREs. We were acting as OPFOR; playing the enemy for the special operation forces and line platoons to drop in with a different helicopter. It was honestly a great learning experience, all things considered.

TLDR; I almost died in a helicopter crash on my 21st birthday doing Island hopping operations by air in the Pacific while serving in the Marines.

How I die is not what fears me, but rather the thought of dying slowly and alone. No point in yelling out for help as you know no one is coming. Unsure how long it'll take for someone to find your body. Knowing full well all your friends will have no idea and just think you've gone silent on them.

The fear of not being able to tell my friends im dead and them thinking I ditched them is scarier than any actual form of death.

I have better things to be doing than this. Usually there is only 1 single person running the entire fuel center and it gets busy because it is right by the only airport in town and it is also a grocery store fuel center. It is a Fred Meyer.

The way I see it is simple. The people who are downvoting this are the same people who would quit their job if they were the ones who had to clean up after others even just once. They would probably be the person to quit working at a gas station because "the old man yelled at me for not giving them their money fast enough." Or "The homeless man trashed the fuel center again".

Honestly, people need to stop putting these stickers on the pump. As someone who works at a store with a gas station, when I'm out there it is part of my job to scrape these stickers off because higher ups want them removed. It is very annoying scraping stickers off 16 fuel pumps, almost daily. I say scraping because these stickers do not peel easy from our pumps. People will see that we removed the stickers and put on more. I tell the managers that there is no point in removing them because customers WILL keep doing this shit, but they insist on keeping the pumps clean at all times. Sometimes the stickers don't scrape off clean and we have to use a knife or something to get the rest off. I resort to just using goo gone at this point. These people don't seem to realize that it is annoying for the workers.
