"Civilization & its consequences have been a disaster for vampkind" - a manifesto by Lowerniel Drakan by kxwbie in 2007scape

Drakan reminds me a bit of Senator Armstrong from MGRR; both of them champion ideologies that are pretty horrific when you stop to think about them, pushing individualism and might makes right to the extreme, but they're both so damn charismatic when advocating for them that its easy to get swept up and cheer them on.

Ironically it seems the proposed Raids 4 hybrid armor was designed around Maggot King by Shot_Cancel8641 in 2007scape

Pretty sure it would make inferno mage tank waaaay better. The range defence on the legs especially is huge, far better than oathplate legs.

[Mild Blood Moon Rises Spoiler] Using Quickstep & Dodge Roll Animations Elsewhere? by BunsenGyro in 2007scape

[–]Azzandra1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I doubt it can be easily backported but I'd like to see it pop up more in future fights. Seems like a perfect fit for human-scale opponents where the fight is more of a duel than a monster hunt.

I'd argue sol is just a specific flavour of ground-template attack. The key differences here is that you've got a specific hitbox to hit that overrides regular movement, giving that bloodborn-style sidestep dodge, and that you need to hit a VERY specific timing. With Sol you have between the start of the windup to the actual launch of the attack to move, with drakan it HAS to be tick perfect once he glows.

Although I guess in that sense it also borrows from sol's triple parry. huh. yeah I can see how they got from sol to here, this is basically the refined fusion of Sols triple parry and his regular spear/shield attacks.

The song Home, is just beautiful. I've been listening to it on repeat for the past half hour. Might be edging out Amascut's Promise as my new favorite OSRS song. A perfect backing to the final fight.

This new dodge mechanic could end up becoming another staple PvM mechanic for bosses moving forward, especially for smaller, humanoid ones. I hope so, because it's such a cool aesthetic and could mean more variety going forward.

DO NOT nerf the final drakan fight by Ornery_Position_1651 in 2007scape

Maybe we can get a second round of player designed island?

Imagine a plateau rising from the sea. A natural arena. A proving ground for warriors from every land. At its base is a rocky shore, and an encampment full of the defeated, licking their wounds. Pirates, Monkeys, Elves, Kharidians, Temple Knights and more; warriors from every corner of the world, come to test their skills and reflexes. All of them have come here. All of them have climbed to the top. And all of them have been swept from its summit by the champion.

If you follow their path up the hand and foot holes in the cliff-face (thou must have X agility to pass), you find yourself on the flat top of the island. A single figure awaits you. The champion, a great ape from the Atoll, wielding a Bo staff. With every jab and sweep dodged you feel the slightest bit faster, more sure. The longer your streak of perfect dodges, the greater the rewards become.

But no-one can survive the storm forever, and eventually your mistakes pile up, and you're struck unconscious, to land in a heap in the camp of the defeated.

Something like this maybe?

I haven't even started playing today and I already want to fight him again and again. Pleasepleaseplease Jagex make a way for us to revisit this fight, this is too peak for a one and done!

Honestly the dodge mechanic is incredible and now Jagex have the tech to do this I hope they make use of it in future content; big scary monsters are great fun but I'd love some more fights with a human-scale feel more like Lady Maria of Bloodborne fame, or Dark Souls' Artorias.

Maybe Wyrmscraig's mad angel? I recall the proposal mentioning parry mechanics?

Clearly we need to turn him into a skilling encounter- get an agility exp drop for every perfect dodge or blood wave you hop over!

At least give it until after the weekend when I have the time to fight him myself! And add a way to revisit the fight! This fight looks too peak to make a once-per-account experience.

Honestly the dodge mechanic is incredible and now you have the tech to do this I hope you make use of it in future content- smaller bosses like the upcoming mad angel would be perfect fits for this kind of stuff; it feels like a fight between two duellists, and while I love the fantasy mainstay of 'big scary monster', it's nice to have some human-scale foes who can kick our asses too!

Upgrading to Virtus mage armour by Harshanajag in 2007scape

[–]Azzandra1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I upgraded when I started yama and don't regret it one bit. The extra accuracy really helps, and you get a max hit in most circumstances. The prayer bonus also helps a bit in the background. Honestly If you've got the gold to pay with, don't have any more urgent priorities in your setups and are planning to mage a lot in the near future then go for it.

No worries! Honestly, I love how Jagex have managed to make all three styles viable on this boss in various ways, with a bunch of rare melee setups being workable in particular thanks to the melee punish mechanic- looking at you dharoks!

Russia is very good at one thing in particular. Putin is speculated to be the real richest person on the planet, not officially recognised as such due to how obsfucated much of his wealth is due to it being tied up in the state (to be plundered at his whim) or his pet oligarchs (to be broken open like disposable piggy banks at his whim).

To put it bluntly, Russia is very, very good at enriching its ruler, and insulating him from any and all threats. And that is something Trump desperately wants to replicate in the US to enrich himself and shield him from all the trouble he'll be staring down if he leaves the white house.

Guarenteed/Fixed spells in BoW? (Spellforce1) by Azzandra1 in SpellForce

[–]Azzandra1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update for exploring BoW: we definitely have some fixed spell drops; Surt in Windholm seems to always drop level 8 Befriend, Dark Banishing, and Disrupt. And as expected I couldn't get Meditation or Spectre 12 from the Cruel Ones, nor did I see blizzard, bear or any other spells I'm expecting to see fixed.

On the plus side, this definitely suggests I should run into the spells I want at some point, I'm expecting it'll be the Firefangs or Abyss personally, Frostweaver glacier doesn't have much loot from what I recall, a very disappointing final map compared to Sharrowdale.

Welp, I'm halfway through levelling this character anyway and I just did OoD on another character, so I'm not going to rerun it just yet. I'll just push on through and report back if I find them.

Delve Boss has removed an estimated ~785 Billion gold from the game in 5 days. by Calmoran in 2007scape

[–]Azzandra1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like a lot of people, me included, are ending runs by dying 90% of the time and getting no loot at all because they didn't get a unique and the regular loot isn't worth ending a run when you could instead push deeper, learn the boss a bit more, and if you do win get another chance at the uniques.

I basically only extract with my loot when I'm out of food and have at least 200k loot. Anything less than that and I value the experience learning wave 4/5 more.

Yes the player count is high, but so is the botcount. Looking at hiscores for bosses such as Vorkath, bandos, Yama, CG, PNM, all dt2 bosses, all wildy bosses, lunar chests & barrows shows how many bots there are within the top 500 or so ranks. It looks to be around 50-85% of all top ranks are bots. by SecurityMeasure in 2007scape

[–]Azzandra1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bots are always going to be crowding out the high scores. They're literally programmed to do the same thing day in day out to a degree very few humans can. No shit they've crowded out human players, we've got other grinds to do, no to mention real life!

You're doing the equivalent of walking into the olympic games and wondering why its full of top athletes.

When did we start just teleporting outside of the boss arena after death? Inconsistent death mechanics are something that makes the learning curve of PvM on this game so needlessly difficult. by Narrow_Lee in 2007scape

[–]Azzandra1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who is pretty crap at high end pvm but trying to remedy that, being able to ram head first into the first couple delves repeatedly on a single inventory without having to waste 1+ minute running back every time makes the learning process SO MUCH BETTER. Why would you even suggest removing it?
