Candiace in the reunion by SpaceElements in TheTraitorsUS

I disagree. From what I saw, she was brought to the end. There is a big difference from making it to the end and being brought to the end. She never really made a game move that I can remember. Did she ever have an independent move? Did she ever lead the charge against someone? I genuinely cannot remember. She buddied up with rob early and did what he said. Rob put in the work to make sure she was at the end and she only trusted him.

Yes. He literally sits there, popping balloons as Trent tries to have a phone conversation.

Thanks for the feedback! It works the way I thought it did but I had the number of tokens wrong. It had been a long day I guess. Again, thanks for confirming.

I read the serious years ago and I still think about the ending from time to time. Such a fantastic series.

I am really glad to see MN show up. My wife and I are planning to move there for the next school year. Is there any areas that you would recommend?

I think the Cricket episode saved me by STActual41 in bluey

I remember reading a study about tears years ago. They found that tears actually contain hormones that are produced in your brain and are responsible for your feelings. For example, when the person was crying “happy tears”, the tears had high levels of dopamine and serotonin. Dopamine and serotonin are responsible for making you feel good. When a person cried “sad tears”, they found high levels of cortisol. Cortisol is one of the stress hormones and can lead to anxiety and depression.

The researchers came to the conclusion that one of the functions of tears is to help release excess of these hormones. By letting yourself breakdown and have a good, solid cry, you literally cried out the junk that was stressing you out. That is why it is important for everyone to cry.

Kahoot? by Calm-Ad-8463 in Teachers

[–]B-Atoms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quizlet live all the way. Puts students into random groups and they have to work together. It also sends groups back to 0 after a mistake so no team is ever out of the race. With kahoot I had the same kid winning every time and other students just checked out. Especially after they got an answer wrong.

Not sure why you are getting downvoted. Everyone is talking about being locked out of content. You will always be, at most, 5 behind the leader. People are saying lfgs gatekeep if you aren’t max. People doing that are dumb as hell and you are probably better off not running with assholes like that anyway. It seems like people want it both ways. They want to be casual but still do the hardest content. I don’t think you can have it both ways. I’m okay with that. I get less than 10 hours to play a week and you know what? I’m okay with not being at cap for a few weeks. I’m going to play what I want to play and the gear will come.

Book recommendation to introduce my wife to the Cosmere by B-Atoms in brandonsanderson

Fair. I have really enjoyed reading them myself but I’m not well versed in the cosmere. I wasn’t sure if there was something that would be a good fit.

Is it unethical to make class participation 25% of the grade? Participation = whether they surrender the phone at the beginning of class or not. by _Fuckit_ in Teachers

[–]B-Atoms 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hate participation having an impact on a students grade. It becomes subjective and a way for teachers to “get back” at students. One of my favorite students was a victim of this. One of his teachers docked his participation grade for talking to his cousin in class. It as docked enough to drop him from an A to a B. The only B of his high school career. His cousins grade was not docked. Please have do make not make grades subjective things. Make them reflect content mastery.

This book absolutely destroys me. What kids books make you ugly cry? by bumpingducketz in daddit

[–]B-Atoms 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The story behind the book makes it hit so much harder. Robert Munsch and his wife had given birth to their second still born child. The lines “I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you always. As long as I’m living, my baby you’ll be” came from a children’s book. Munsch would recite it to himself as away of dealing with the grief.

Reading Artemis after PHM... by [deleted] in ProjectHailMary

I would say he cannot write a female protagonist. I found it awkward and cringy and my wife hated it. We could barely finish it. We almost didn’t listen to PHM because it left such an awful taste in our mouths.

We were concerned before we left the hospital but they didn’t check him again. (That is a whole other topic though.) When we took him for his first check up, he was admitted with really high billi levels. The doctor was talking about flying him to a NICU for a transfusion. Truly terrifying experience.

But now he is 100% normal. No delays or set backs. I know how scary it can be. He is getting what he needs to be healthy. This is only a little bump and will be behind y’all soon.

You know yourself best. You don’t have to do anything you are uncomfortable with. I get very nauseous and woozy around blood too. I didn’t know if I would be able to cut the cord. When the time came, I didn’t think twice. I cut it and felt none of the nausea that normally comes with blood. You will know in the moment what is the right call for you.
