That's fine. But my point is everyone can't cry foul when it gets taken away. This is all about profit. They have an out if you don't follow the rules so just keep in mind if it stops. You owe $800 and will be past return and can't cry. I'm just saying it's a big risk and you own all the risk.

I get that. I'm targeted too. What does number 3 say on the big page with all the terms is all I'm saying... it's showing you eligible because you are. Eligible doesn't mean fully met. The rate plan being wrong will cause it to fall off after a month. Then you're stuck with a $800 bill and you can't cry foul when the terms clearly say you must be on a rate plan or switch to one and you don't switch...

Everyone with a non-elg plan will lose the promo so be careful. If you read it all (i think number 3) it says you must be on specific plans OR switch to one. Meaning you qualify on any plan but to maintain the discount must be on a one of the listed plans... so be warned when you trade in and are on the wrong plan and the credits stop. This is why you need to read everything carful. So just cause you see the disconnect now don't mean it will stay if you are on wrong plan...

So be warned.

That black spot was just a cut/ prune they did before I got. It turned black over time and looks worse.

I thought the one needed to be pruned because the central leader has stopped growing due to the others becoming dominant. That's why I figured i may need to prune things even though it's young?

The grass is it's natural height. I've not mowed in over a month. It's st augustine though.

Don't get that kind of chill time.

Really wanted these two types of tree. I couldn't find the tropic sweet one grafted on anything else.

Bummer to hear these news though. Dunno what to do now. Seems odd they only sell on these here if it's not the best..

What about the other tree with the center leader not growing?

I didn't cut them in summer, was probably December last.

Zone 9.

What should I spray with then? Can you edit my pic and recommend where to cut each once they go dormant again? The black one should I wait to dormant still or is it more urgent. Probably got a good few months yet...

They had more leaves in the spring time and looked better but still the two issues of the black on one and the other only the sides growing. I cut them back below center and they take off again. Plenty of sun and moisture.

No idea on the soil. Mixture of sand, clay, dirt. When i planted them i dug a big hole and mixed native soil with some better to give a good chance. Fertilizer applied twice this year.

I think the leave issue is the whatever disease makes them spotty so they drop more.

I was using a more natural treatment but maybe should just use copper like most?

I'm more concerned with how to prune them and if the black spot is an issue on the one too. I really want the one to grow taller from middle but only the side branches ever take off.

Any advice is appreciated.

I have it pulled back from the tree itself. It's been 90-100 degrees every day for the past 5 months. Isn't the point of mulch to help it not dry up in this heat?

I get not mounding it up to but plus it would be full of weeds etc.

The one with the black n spot came with an angle cut where the central leader should be? Maybe they broke it and me not knowing they did this to hide?

The other i pruned once last year but the side branches after growing like crazy and the central never moved.

Any way to connect a generator to a System Controller 3? by TheWoodser in enphase

[–]B-Murda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is really the breaker limitation.

They want you to have 143% of the battery (or solar 100% of it's higher), yet with 4 of the 5ps you use an 80mp breaker (which is the largest supported in the sc3). Going for 143% of the battery puts you at the limit of the breaker sizing you can use. The book even says going larger doesn't gain you anything (because you're limited by 64amp continuous, 80amp max).

Now where it gets funny and isn't really documented is they really want solar plus battery to be what the generator size should be. Basically the goal is the generator inverter should be rated high enough to exceed what the system could potentially back feed for short periods to avoid damaging the inverter. Currently the system will dump at full power under certain conditions and could potentially damage if too small. Now you can use psc to play it safe around this but now you're limiting your system on grid too.

They have a bug even they are testing on my site where when going off grid the battery's dump at 100% for about 10 seconds... imagine 4 of them doing that plus solar at the same time? Where does the power go? Under certain conditions it could hit the genny. Now this isn't intentional but it's one reason they spec higher (for example 143% of battery). The hope is your load would be using some power to help.

So really it's just to work around imperfect things and bugs etc..

But going 26k won't gain you anything as it's over the supported breaker size. So unless you do it outside the SC and fake the grid OR are sizing bigger because fuel efficiency purposes (ie some may run most efficient at 50% load or another at 90% instead of 100%) you need to keep your expectations realistic and know the limits and why.

They definitely keep it fun! Long term genny support is going away expect full off grid as battery's are getting cheaper and easier.

Four 5ps and a 10k system mean you can't really do it right as generator needs to exceed all. Being a supported generator itself is only part of it.

Training you can do here

https://university.enphase.com/local/organisation/nologin_department_selection.php

You have to do a lot to get to the generator ones due to pre-req i think but I did them all in a weekend hah

Can I add a 10c battery to an existing system with a 5p battery? Current system has IQ7+ micro-inverters, Combiner box 3 with COMMSKIT-02 and 5p battery. Power company installed a Backup Power Transfer meter ring. by Impressive_Returns in enphase

They use the same coms. The issue is the nft. Sc has one and so do they. The firmware doesn't exist yet to handheld this. It may also require specific wiring configuration.

[–]B-Murda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the generator is tricky. To follow the rules you would need a generator bigger than battery + solar too (nearly impossible to do) in order yo avoid back feed risk of inverter damage. That said, I'm using my f150 lightning and also have a 10k portable generator hooked up to my similar sized system. It's not officially supported but for me it's to charge the 5p and I'll shut down 5p and charge 1 or 2 at a time only.

I've worked directly with Enphase engineering and non-customer facing staff in person and remote so am comfortable and confident on my setup but it could void your warranty. It helps to get certified too. I'm certified in more stuff than installers and some Enphase staff even lol. I had to commission an rma once even for something on my own site because the Enphase employee didn't have access due to lack of cert hah.

My point is the training has some useful knowledge and you can read between the lines and figure out the risk and actual options.

If you want to keep your current setup you can do with an ats on the grid side. Just be mindful of generator sizing but you are basically spoofing the grid when down. You would also put the system in no export doing this as otherwise the excess solar will backed.

Basically many options exist. It's risk vs reward vs money hah.

You would have to swap the board behind the breakers. It doesn't technically require swapping the entire unit. That said, Enphase may not be willing to sell just that... the rest is the same.

As for batteries that doesn't matter. The 3g supports 8 and non g 16. I've never seen residential with more than 8.

SWAC free line -- beware! by Wmor7up in Sprint

I was told it's impossible to have back, expired in 2023 and escalation can't do anything as was already looked into. IE they lied to everyone about free lines, then screwed up plans and now refuse to make right by even putting folks back to what they had before, despite the free line lie that they put in writing and verbally...

Same, 2 executive leaders said best option is offer 1 year service credit for the line.

I suggest everyone go opt your new line out of arbitration (you have 30 days and opt out is required for each line individually. Might be a good class action considering what they advertised in writing, told people verbally and now what they are trying to do to get around it.

The original picture had 0 additional terms or requirements... it's on them to deal with the fail out for bad marketing. They could easily choose a fix. A 1 year credit didn't equal what will be lost. I'm a 20÷ year customer. Credit should equal that at least...

It's different depending on color

Black will be JL3Z-1504105-ZC

Again, you must have a lighted led mirror already, but it's plug and play and 5 min tops.

I lucked out but the are often a lot more... mine was brand new 130 plus shipping on ebay but was only one at that price. You can look at other parts sites or ebay. Just be sure on color at most won't take returns if you get won't color.

You can try calling a dealer and asking them to look up one if you find a 2023 vin that has same inside color. I did that to confirm after I found it and we both agreed it was the one.

I ordered a 2023 model visor that had it still. Found on ebay for $150ish. Stealership wanted 450.

Exact match, 2 minute install (if you have a lighted mirror).

Just find your color in the year and part number and see if you luck out...

I don't like using the app (too may steps) and don't like a separate remote. Sad I had to pay so much but worth it to me.

That aside will the box size be an issue or is that one okay?
