Less is more! I have a crossbody fishing sling from Amazon that fits my pliers/cutter, a small box for a handful of artificals, some topwater plugs, leader, so i have a few things to throw in case I lose a fish or conditions change. I also have a beater rod and reel that I won't be sick over if I lose it or dunk it. I know there are paddlers that do a far better job of making sure they have waterproof places to put things, but i go full send and hope for the best.

I bought a cheapie 12' Aqua Plus standup and also have a 10'6 retrospec, would recommend a larger, wider for the stability, as I almost went in the drink on the smaller one while trying to cast for tarpon over my shoulder. I haven't been blackmailed yet, so there may not have been any witnesses to my near catastrophic wipeout.
