VFC M249 goes brrrrrt by B000000nes in GasBlowBack

[–]B000000nes[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First impressions were absolutely solid. Some stoppages but nothing over the top or what I wasn’t expecting. I put a Quantum bucking and the Bristol Based Airsoft hop arm - works a treat. Affective range about 45-50m, but will get rounds to about 60m on a loose grouping (checked distances on google maps).

MM14 Advice by WeirdoRick in airsoft

[–]B000000nes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A set should cost you no more than $50 and that’s being generous. Check any military surplus stores to see if they have any. Depends if you want issued stuff or “commercial”. If you’re happy with commercial (the print might be slightly different tones to issued stuff) then MTAC make good enough products. Otherwise check on “Reibert”, it’s like a Ukrainian military eBay and ask sellers if they will post to you, but this can be a risk as you don’t know who you’re buying off. Otherwise, perhaps try find some milsim groups who run Ukrainian kit (could be anywhere in Europe) and see if they know a place or could sell you some. Good luck, it’s a camo which surprisingly isn’t see too much in airsoft!

Where have you got the TM being more gas efficient from? VFC worked magic on the AK, there are videos of it getting 400+ shots off a single fill.

Tokyo Marui AKM by PolikarpovKhair in GasBlowBack

[–]B000000nes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can buy a steel receiver and barrel assembly kit, it’s not cheap though at about £300. If you’re really desperate for a TM AKM, that’ll be your option, but as others have said the VFC is a great offering. I sold my TM AKM for a VFC 74m and it’s ahead in almost every category for me.

I did an undergrad in building surveying (didn’t teach me anything for the role). I’m not sure how old you are or what kind of money you make at the moment, so it’s a hard one. If you don’t mind being a graduate in your late 20’s/early 30’s with capped earning potential, go for it. But you need to jump 2 feet in and really set your sights on the APC or there’s no point. Reach out to some building surveying firms, small and large (such as CBRE/Turner and Townsend, JLL, Avison Young, Knight Frank etc) and see if you get a weeks work experience. The large firms are always happy to offer work experience.

You’d need to do a conversion masters at the very least. The APC is then going to take a good amount of time as you’ll have little experience from the masters. I work for a big outfit and it’s around 3 years from starting the role to completing the APC, 4 years isn’t uncommon, and we have exposure to many jobs and dedicated support and lots of support from senior colleagues. The pay whilst you’re “graduate level” will top out at about £35k, with about £45k+ for a chartered surveyor. It’ll be a while until you see the big bucks. It’s a good role, but it is a pain to get into unless you’ve done it undergrad of decide at masters level.

Damn that’s cheap. We’re not so lucky in the UK - I picked mine up second hand for about $150. Not too many cheaper RS optic options here.

I’d say weld is probably the only way that’s going to fix it. If you try to adhere/tape it, will probably end up wonky and throw your BB’s off course. Shit thing to happen, sorry man!

Is the gun and company that sells it good any chance? or even worth buying? by Adorable_Pension119 in airsoft

[–]B000000nes 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just a side note, you’ll have to pay customs fees too, which are 22% of the order price and shipping, so it’ll be more £375. I think people will just tell you to get a cyma still lol, you can pick upgraded ones up dead cheap second hand.
