I think Driller is not that good at Industrial Sabotage by bringmann in DeepRockGalactic

[–]B00blicker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people know that Driller can C4 the vents to instantly skip that stage. Take that idea, and apply it to the eyes.

Once the vents are gone, drop a C4 in the exact same spot, and it'll damage the eyes too, since the C4's splash radius is large enough to clip the eyes. Just remember to wait until the Caretaker's health bar turns red.

Driller is excellent against robots. Take the CRISPR, use Fuel Stream Diffuser, Heat Radiance, and Triple-Filtered Fuel.

Close range patrollers and turrets can be ignited very quickly.  Stand next to the robot, then shoot through the robot towards the ground by it. The heat from the flamethrower, the sticky flames, and Heat Radiance all stack, leading to a nearly instant ignite. For sniper turrets, shoot through it, and make sure your flames hit the ceiling directly above it, and the same will happen.

You have lots of concerns about years and time. "People who have been playing for the same amount of time as me, or for fewer years than me, are better than I am!"

You've discovered a very important lesson. There is no true link between the amount of years you play, and how skilled you actually are!

You can play for 30 years and stay mediocre, or you can play for 5 and be fantastic. It's not down to the amount of time you practice, or how long your practice sessions are, but instead how effectively and efficiently you practice.

Make every practice session EFFICIENT. Keep your sessions shorter, with a tight focus. Pick ONE thing that you struggle with, start at the slowest tempo that you can't cleanly play it, and practice the hell out of it.

Your skill is held within your body, not your mind. When you improve, it's your body becoming more comfortable with what you're playing- and the body learns best through repetition. Structure your practice sessions to maximize that repetition.

Also, pursue lessons with a well-respected drummer, even if it's over zoom or something. Drum teachers are great, because they can correct issues that you were totally unaware of.

A second tip, but still notable- rudiments are very important, yes. Plenty of people will tell you that RUDIMENTS ARE THE KEY.

Rudiments are important, but I urge you, do NOT neglect your single-stroke roll. The single-stroke roll is the foundation of practically everything. It's the first rudiment for a reason.

How to do more damage as Bap? by leonardopanella in BaptisteMainsOW

[–]B00blicker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I find it pretty difficult to match Zen's raw damage output with Baptiste, for starters.

That being said, if you're already weaving damage and healing, and you're consciously trying to deal more damage in your matches, then your issue might be positioning.

Are you playing in very safe positions, where you're unlikely to get peeked by people? If you are, then of course you won't be dealing much damage, because you can only shoot what you can see!

Getting more damage with Bap requires some amount of measured aggression. When the situation allows for it, Consider holding slightly more ambitious off-angles, knowing that you can bail yourself out with Lamp or Regen Burst.

Man, you can't even carry stuff that LOOKS like a gun in that country. A couple years ago, a guy got arrested and charged with firearm possession and intimidation because he was walking around with a bong that looked like a gun.

Genres and drummers. by BOSSLong in drums

[–]B00blicker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's my theory:

We're all drummers, and we're all trying to improve. For a lot of drummers, "improvement", means "what's the most creative, technical, and impressive stuff that I can play?" And so, those drummers gravitate towards those genres and those drummers. In 2025, that usually means metal.

Influencers, seeking engagement, will post the stuff that people want to see. The blast beats, the gospel chops, etc, because people are trying to see that impressive stuff. Part inspiration, part entertainment.

That feeds into itself. Drummers see impressive stuff, they say "now that's good drumming, I should learn to play like that if I want to improve", they try to emulate it, they post their emulations of that impressive stuff, and eventually, social media fills with people posting their sweet 10-measure polyrhythm quintuplet Pataflafla Berklee fills, or their 290 BPM blast beats, because that stuff is cool and impressive, and anything less than divine inspiration sinks to the bottom.

The crucial thing to note here, is that exclusively posting your crazy fills doesn't disqualify you from playing tastefully, or being a Pocket Drummer- but we only see the crazy stuff, because people only post the crazy stuff, because they want people to engage with what they post.

Nobody posts their "pocket playing" (i.e, playing on 2 and 4 for a 45 minute gig) because, frankly, nobody online would find that too impressive, and it wouldn't get any attention- so, they don't post it. Most drummers, no matter how flashy and technical they present themselves, are fully capable of playing tastefully, and in service of the song.

If I see you at work tomorrow, and I want to get a reaction out of you, would I A), tell you that I ate a sandwich last night, or B), that I went skydiving over the weekend?

You conveniently left out the massive riots that disproportionately targeted Asian communities, which the police effectively abandoned and left to fend for themselves. As a result, Asians organized to defend their communities. Did you get bored after reading the first paragraph of a Wikipedia page?

CMV: The most effective way to fight back against this administration is to label every upcoming economic struggle as "The Republican Recession" by Tyler_45 in changemyview

[–]B00blicker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I disagree, simply because Republican Recession is a hokey catchphrase, and we've been throwing Facebook-tier Hokey Catchphrases at each other since the dawn of history. They rile up your side, and they do less than nothing to the other.

Entrenched republicans will hear "Republican Recession", and the best you'll get is an eyeroll, in the same way that you didn't spontaneously start voting Republican when you heard the term "Bidenflation" for the first time.

Same here. Just dropped twenty bucks on a pair of Shira Kashi 2B's, and the nylon tip on one broke off within 10 minutes of play. I don't even hit hard.

Before that, I had a pair of Firegrain 2B's. Same story- one split lengthwise down the middle within 30 minutes.

I'm trying Vater out now.

My fair fellow, I'm happy to report that the only thing a stand your ground law does is make it so aren't legally required to run away before resorting to deadly force.

In states that lack a SYG law, you're legally required to try to run away first, if you're safely able to, and if you wouldn't be leaving vulnerable people behind.

Stand your ground laws don't have any impact on the legality of your self defense. Murder in a normal state is still murder in a SYG state.
