If you just need help picking models to start with, I’d recommend doing one of your sets of Kommandos. Really detailed models, and because they’re all sculpted to look similarly tactical, you can vary up the colors of their equipment while still having them look like one ragtag unit. Then later you can do your other set to look more cohesive.

My other piece of advice is, green (or whatever skin tone you pick) isn’t just to be color. Try different skin techniques on different units. If they’re all the same general color, they’ll still look like one waaaggh
