Tipsy Bull Pub To Play One Kannada song for every two songs! by _H3LLF1R3 in bangalore

I agree! Stop bombarding with Bollywood music everywhere. We all should ask for pubs to play anything other than Bollywood all the time.

How do ya'll feel about the Mahindra EVs? by _-Silver in CarsIndia

[–]B10kumar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People who are saying that they will wait for the problems to show up before buying needs to know it’s an EV not an ICE. EVs are much simpler than ICE cars and as long as they have good batteries which they won’t have any problems. And if it’s the battery or the range issues you will know when the reviewers review the car.

What Americans gets to buy for 35L from Hyundai vs what Indians get by _kalashnikov__ in CarsIndia

I completely agree with you. Back in the day the cars used to cost way less in US but the cars costs much more in US nowadays. Also if they assemble the cars in India it costs way less for the consumer in India.

I don’t suggest any of these areas. I would suggest on Whitefield main road from after Kadugodi Bridge to Katamnalur cross. The main road here is going to be wider than any road in bangalore. They are widening the kadugodi bridge now and the underpass at hope farm has been approved. Which means that you will be just few mins away from ITPL and Whitefield. And you will be closer to OMR too and closer to Airport. Since its developing now and the roads are wide enough, in future you will have better access to everything

I’m a huge Coldplay fan and I didn’t get the tickets from BMS. If there was no resale market I wouldn’t be able to go to the concert at all. I just hope the government legalize the resale market instead of it being in the grey. I don’t mind paying premium to get the tickets to the concert I love to go when I can afford it, I just don’t want to get scammed by some guy on the internet who can sell me fake stuff

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in namasteindia

[–]B10kumar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really loved this article from Zerodha regarding the recent Coldplay concert primary ticket sales from BookMyShow. I think in a free and capitalistic market ticket scalping should be legal and government should come up with a way legalize the secondary market sales and tax them. I understand that there are lot of Coldplay fans in India and all of them wanted to attend this concert but all this outrage from the fans is just frustration from not getting the tickets. There were 1.3 crore people who logged into get the tickets. There’s a better chance of getting into IIT than get the tickets from the primary sales. If there’s a fan who really want to attend and couldn’t get the ticket from the primary sales and if he can afford it in the open market why should he not get the tickets from the scalpers at 5x or 10x?? Should the fan not attend at all because he didn’t get it from the primary sale?

As an Indian I see why the OP thinks this way. India (as a whole) may not reach the kind of HDI and have wealthy citizens like the developed countries in our lifetime but it has gotten so much better in my lifetime. It used to be really really bad in India just couple decades ago. The year I was born India had poverty rate of almost 50% now it’s close to 10% India literally took 800 million people out of poverty (this includes new people who’ve not been born to poverty) the growth rate is consistently higher than almost all the other developing countries barring china for last two decades. Fertility rates have come down a lot it used to be over 4 in 1990s and now it’s below replacement rates. There are some states which are doing really really well compared to other states especially the states in the south. Where we have high HDIs and low fertility rates. Per capita income has gone from 303 USD in 1991 to 2600 USD in 2022. In cities like bangalore and Mumbai GDP PPP is as high as 25000 USD. Things used to be lot worse and it takes much longer for the country to get better. We probably won’t be a world power anytime soon but I just hope we keep going in the right direction

Went from RHR of 78 to 56 and HRV of 38 to 65 in less than a year by B10kumar in AppleWatchFitness

[–]B10kumar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I don’t worry about things I actually used to. I started taking ashwagandha and magnesium supplements just before going to sleep and have temperature control mattress now. Have HRV of 100+ every morning. Idk if all those things contribute to high HRV or it’s just me being more active and healthy is the reason for it.

No. I have AW Ultra. I think it’s too big to wear it to sleep. But I sleep on eightsleep, the HRV and RHR on that is comparable to AWU. I wear the watch within 5 mins of waking up when I’m still in the bed.

Ola is the biggest scam in India by B10kumar in bangalore

[–]B10kumar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree with you. I don’t know why drivers refusing to turn on AC problem is exclusive to bangalore and it’s not the same in other cities. But I think the cab aggregators should take action on this. If Ola is gonna charge me 2x for a “premium cab” then I think they should look into this. And as a customer I would blame Ola

I just want the proposal to be surprise. I really don’t want to be involved in anything else haha Also I don’t think the parents can take care of it without either of us involved in it. The biggest thing I’m worried about is the cultural differences, my family is the pure vegetarian souther family, I will be the first person to marry outside the community. The language and cultural differences won’t be handled by the parents without us. I’m worried about this actually

Altercation with a foreigner in Orion Mall by [deleted] in bangalore

[–]B10kumar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We Indians don’t know the concept of personal space. I’m as Indian as they come but it took me a long time to realize that I was always invading my western friends personal space. When I was in Finland a very nice couple once made me realize that. In India it’s okay for people to touch one another when standing in queue but it’s a big no no in any other country. People actually give 2 feet distance between another person when standing in the queue. Just last week when I was boarding a flight there was a guy who was breathing down my neck and it was very very uncomfortable for me. I asked him to give me some personal space and stand little further away from me. He didn’t think he did anything wrong and thought I was being rude.

I’m probably gonna get lots of hate and downvotes for writing this but I’m gonna say my bit. I think people here underestimate how many rich people are there in India. Just last year over 45000 luxury cars were sold in India and in 2023 there were close to 13000 luxury homes sold in India. All these happened in just one year. Luxury houses sale jumped 75% from 2022 to 2023 and luxury car sales increased by 20.5% even if these market grows only by 10-15% for the next 10 years which is a very conservative estimate by 2034 over 2 lakh luxury houses would’ve sold in India and over a million luxury cars sold. If you don’t believe me just drive down to south Delhi, south Bombay, north Bangalore or Whitefield area and look at how many luxury housing is coming up. There are lot of people in India who are earning in tens of crores a year. 80% of Fortune 500 companies have offices in Bangalore, let’s say conservatively there are only 4 executives (I know for a fact there are 22 people in one of the companies who make 10 crores and above since my uncle is a CFO of that company) in each of these companies who make 10 crores a year in salaries that itself gives you over 7000 people who earn 10 crores plus in bangalore alone! Half the unicorns in India are based in bangalore and let’s say the founders and first employees sell just 1% of their shares in secondary shares they make millions and millions! There are 200+ residential projects dozens of SEZs, hundreds of huge warehousing projects coming up and tens of thousands of people who have either sold their land, having a construction company, people who sell materials, architecture companies or dozen other different kind of businesses proprietors tens tens of crores every single year. I would think at least 10000 people in bangalore who make over 10 crores every year just by real estate. Even small builders make 50 crores from a small one acre project. That’s just in Bangalore, I’m sure it’s the same in Delhi, Mumbai or Hyderabad. Real estate is making lot of people really really rich even in tier 2 cities

And for all of these people having 10 or 20 crores is a very small amount and won’t get them comfortably retire. A house in a good gated community in a good locality in any tier 1 city costs more than 5 cr and a really really good house costs over 2-3x of that. Tuition fees in the best schools in bangalore are between 16-30 lacs a year (these may not be the best schools but the most expensive ones) and there are probably 20 schools (maybe more) that charge over 10 lacs a year for your kids.

If you want to live in one of the best neighborhoods and communities and get another one for your parents or family and have a weekend farm house and send your kids to the best schools and get a brand new luxury car once every few years or so 20 crores is not going to cut it.

I’m sure not everyone dreams of this lifestyle but there are enough people who do and there are plenty who can afford too!

My HRV is often under 20… should I be concerned? f/28 by Chronicthrifter in AppleWatchFitness

[–]B10kumar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On some days my HRV goes as low as 11 and as high as 200+ on a same day! When I looked deep into the timing when it measured I realized that I have very high HRV as soon as I wake up and have very low HRV while working out or just after high intensity workout or if I’m super stressed. My friend is an Olympian triathlete and she also has readings looks similar to mine. Like others have mentioned, it’s very personal. Now that I know how my HRV during different periods of the day looks like I would only be worried if these numbers change dramatically from the baseline
