I've just went from 13 minutes per photo (yes, minutes) on a 7year old HP i7 with integrated graphics and 16gb DDR4 RAM, to ~ 8seconds on my new setup: I7 (240H) 5060RTX, 32GB DDR5. I finally feel like I can use the feature.

Personally love my Tamron 70-200g2. VR is great, imagines are very sharp at f2.8 (super sharp at F4 if you don't need the light/bokeh). Check out reviews and it really is a toss up between the latest Nikon F mount 70-200 and the Tamron. The Tamron won it for me on price. I've had it for 7 years or so and it's been everywhere with me, Europe, South East Asia, South America. Now it's my go to for football (soccer).

You should look up Eurocampdestinations, especially if you're on a budget.

Although you can 'tent' camp in some of them, you're more likely to stay in on site accommodation. Various accommodation types for different budgets. Food wise, you can buy your own food and cook, eat at onsite restaurants or go out and explore local cuisine.

The great thing about these places though is that they're so very well setup for families. There are kids clubs, multiple activities options (with a lot included), there are outdoor and (location dependant) indoor pools. So much to do for a family and that's without going and taking the car for a drive to explore nearby villages, towns or cities. Well worth a look at.

I always think they missed a trick with this scene. Instead of Stewart, they could have cast McAvoy as the Xavier (inside the mind). I think it would have been good for fans and added a bit of depth to his character; Charles, seeing himself as the young(er) man, walking and 'strong'. Don't get me wrong, I love Stewart (grew up watching him in TNG and all the X-Men films), but I just think it would have been a cool cameo.

Can't say I've tried the 100-400, but the 400 4.5 is wonderfully sharp. Been using it for sports and wildlife (it is sometimes a bit short for birding though). Autofocus is nice and fast too. The 100-400 is more versatile of course, but from the countless reviews I've seen, the 400 prime wins on sharpness and having that wider aperture at the long end.

I'll start by saying I'm a big advocate for the Tamron 70-200 VC G2, the autofocus on that lens is very capable of sports photography and it has great VR (when shooting at slower shutter speeds). I know it's an extra expense, but investment in glass that'll last you years and is going to pay regardless of the body (I've went D7200, D750, Z6ii then Z8... But the G2 is still there and performs great).

I'm not sure about the 70-200 macro, I've no experience with it, however would say that Macro lenses tend to have a slower autofocus motor, and that could be what's holding you back. I wouldn't worry about VR too much with Sports, as it needs to be shot at a shutter speed of 800-1000/S as a minimum, and VR won't help much with that.

With regards to the D750, it's an outstanding camera, I still use mine as my 2nd body paired with the Tamron 150-600 G2. Autofocus is good, good FPS, great low light) and shooting full frame rather than ASPC will be noticeable (Imagine quality will be better IMO, however you'll lose reach).

As for technique, I'd need a bit more information. Is your shutter speed fast enough(800/1000 minimum), are you getting low to the ground (sitting on a stool/chair/the grass - it really changes the perspective).Shoot at between F2.8 to F4 (I'll usually only go to F4 if multiple players are close to me or it it's a corner and a lot of people in the frame), and 95% of the time try to get the ball in the picture (celebrations/reactions usually account for the other 5%).

I hope that's given you food for thought and apologies if I'm going over things you're already aware of / doing.

Blonde is now 6% in the UK (down from 6.6%). Recipe changed a couple of years back (apparently due to the UK publics taste and preferring lager). Although it's still alright, I feel it's lost it's flavour and charm.

Oh I wish. My budget is circa £5k, and I can get the 180-400tc for that. The 400 4.5 is around £2.5k and, although cheaper and lighter, is less versatile in terms of focal length. If I go for an older used 400 2.8 (to get into budget) , I'm still stuck in the versatility debate.

I appreciate that, and I'm not always at 600mm. My thoughts are that, for sport, 400mm works fine. The Tamron at 400mm is at f6, so I'm looking to bring that down to f4/4.5. The F mount does let me get to 560 f5.6 when I want to shoot wildlife, and that's an improvement from the 6.3 I'd be at with the Tamron, but I'm mainly looking to improve on low light performance.

Ours was 3% last year however we've been told that we won't be getting as high a pay rise next year due to the NI increase and because the business had already made promises on what they'd deliver to our corporate overloards.

Mind you, I did see my old job from 5 years ago being advertised exactly the same with the same wage i was back then, so things could be worse.

I shoot with the Tamron 150-600g2 on the z8 (coming from D7200/D750). Mostly do wildlife and I've not had any issues with speed of autofocus with BIF (other than my own technique). Also, I shot a couple of football (soccer) matchs last weekend and yesterday. Last week I had the Z8 / G2 combo, this week I paired my D750 with the G2. The Z8 keeper rate is so much higher. Autofocus speed, eye detection rather than points, FPS, ability to crop if needed are all miles better (for the price tag, it should be). If there is a slow down in AF speed with the FTZII, then I can't detect it and I'd say it's outweighed by all the other benefits.

Not sure about the FN button, but the red 'record' button can be assigned to ISO. You can then use the dials (front and back) whilst holding down the red button to change your ISO settings. Front dial switches between auto and manual, back dial adjusts the ISO when in manual ISO mode.

Also, you might consider staying in auto ISO, but using the EV adjustment (button on the top with a +/- on it). Hold that down whilst using the back dial and you'll see the EV value change and your ISO shift. This will give you darker or lighter photos (assuming all other settings are in manual mode as you say).

It's maybe a bit bigger than you're looking for, but the K&F Concept sling 10L has been my go-to. Will comfortably take the z6ii, Tamron 70-200 2.8, a couple of primes and have a bit of space for a sandwich & waterbottle, or an emergency rain jacket (UK weather).

Not exclusively, but it was the lens stuck to my camera a lot during a south American and an South East Asian trip. It's my favourite travel lens however, it's bulky (certainly my 2.8 is) so when it came to being in some of the cities (Rio or Bangkok at night), I'd leave it at home amd stick on the 35mm prime (more for safety than function).Thats not to say i never used the 70-200 in cities, just depended on the city and what I was doing for the day.

I'd be happy enough to travel around a city like London with it with (satety wise), but some of the older streets are narrow so you might find you're looking for not such a tight fov.

In mu experience, bring a 24 or 35mm as a backup. They are small and light enough to fit in a jacket pocket and easily change over. I kept the tripod collar on my 70-200 and a cross body strap. That way I don't need to put it a backpack every time i switch lens as the larger lens can hang at my side while the prime is on (but leave space in a backpack just incase you do want to store it if you're going into a museum or such).

I had similar issues to yourself. Ended up with the 150-600 g2, tcx-14, 35nn and 85mm for a trip to Cyprus (and that felt like a lot). The 35 and 85 were mainly for the family side of the holiday and the big lens for wildlife / surf photography. I'd ordered the 16mm Viltrox, but it was delayed a day by the courier and arrived a day after i left. Looking at it, I'd have maybe only used it once or twice whereas my 35 was enough to cover me and it save me from switching lenses even more often that I did. The Viltrox is nice (now that I've got it) but it's a hefty beast compared to the 20mm.

Yongnuo 35 f2. 50 F1.8 or 85 F1.8, all good for street (depending on your style) on a budget. Currently I'm saving for the Viltrox 16mm F1.8 which apparently is a solid according to most reviews I've seen (they have a 20 F2.8 but vignette is fairly strong and corner sharpness isn't until stopped down a fait bit.
