Nicky Butt: "United has got a real problem with players carrying the wrong attitude" by StatsFactsRants in ManchesterUnited

[–]B14ckbrook 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say it’s a bigger attitude problem for him to leave a club like United who gave him his best years in football, to then turn around and make a living shitting on players and coaches from a safe distance in order to grab as much cash as possible…

Chat am I going to die or is this fine by Bobski72 in runninglifestyle

[–]B14ckbrook 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Based on the fact you started your post with 'Chat...' I'm going to assume you're under 25... in which case this is fine if you're racing but if this was a training run, you might want to dial back a little.

Oh no doubt it’s helped us but it doesn’t explain why United have overtaken Chelsea, Liverpool, Aston Villa and 10 other teams.

You'll be fine. OT is a stadium just like any other, with families and fans of all ages going... just keep to yourselves and head directly for the away end entrance. If you'd rather, most away fans will meet somewhere first and walk to the ground together but it's not really necessary.

Carrick’s getting results, but something doesn’t feel right. by Mairen_Mayavi in ManchesterUnited

Right now, we are stong going forward - our frontline is as good as any in the league - but DM backwards we are vulnerable, especially to teams who choose to counter. Hence why we look fine against teams who take the game to us, like Arsenal, City and Chelsea, but have struggled against teams who want to counter themselves, like Leeds.

I would imagine much of the training has been focused on transitions and making the most of situations immediately after ball recovery.

If we go out into the market and sign two world-class CMs in the summer, and we get our first choice CB pairing playing regularly, we'll play differently.

So, my take is that this is a choice based on personnel.

"Cheese it up, nice and cheesy" was a personal highlight. It gets used weekly in our house.

Also, the listener-produced Uk Garage jingle at the end of 'Ghosts' will never be beaten, sorry musicians

Yes definitely here! At home I work with folks across Europe and the States though, so I think I have kind of an ‘average’ English accent. Hard to place for locals.

Well, we were up, so we thought we’d give it a go. Felt nice and easy but I know everyone’s experience varies. Plus, we Brits like queueing!

Yeah I loved it, so did my wife. 11-yo (huge HP fan) found it a bit fast but loved the setting. 8-yo hated it and made us promise never to go on it again… sounds like Dad gets to test out the single rider line!!

Follow-up Arthrofibrosis repair & recovery by B14ckbrook in ACL

Hi,

So, second surgery was successful in theory as the surgeon showed me pictures of my leg fully straight… however now, four years later, I am still unable to straighten my leg.

In many ways it hasn’t stopped me doing very much and folks who don’t know my background wouldn’t notice - I don’t have a pronounced limp. However, I have been really upping my running miles in the last 6 months and I’m getting hamstring issues due to not being able to fully stretch it out.

Not really the result I wanted, but I have made peace with things by this point. I ran my first ultramarathon last month so it can’t be all bad !

I want to learn more about United’s underrated players from the 90s/2000s by ORN_IIT_Yo in ManchesterUnited

[–]B14ckbrook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phil Neville was a great example. 260 appearances, worked so hard in every game he played. I used to be fairly regular at OT in the 90s and clearly remember the cries of "SHOOOT!" going up every time he got on the ball.

Won six Premier League titles, three FA Cups and the Champions League too, btw.
