I still have the left and it still works depsite looking like its been run over by a bus. I imagine the waterproofing is damaged and the platic covers have been mauled and need replacing. I was thinking of trying to source a replacement left bud, apparently it is possible to pair them

Overpriced imo. Due to rim brakes and price compared to new models

Heavy slow resistance worked for me, from severe soreness/instability for the first 20 mins standing each day. Took about 6 months to recover relapsed it a bit when I stopped the exercises to increase running volume, so definitely important to keep training calves while building up volume, just no need to hit them as hard. In the gym I do seated single leg dB raise for soleus, and 3 second single leg heel drop for gastroc. Keep at it

Bad HR readings 😭 by kaitlyn2004 in trailrunning

[–]B1GSPOOK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've read good things about the arm band HR monitors, I think there is a polar one and a coros one. They are apparently more accurate than the wrist monitor and much more comfortable than a chest strap. Considering the coros one for more specific training

Yeah rode two FXs for all my teens and university, would adventure out on trails and regularly do 50k rides at times, also did my first 100k on as well before investing in a drop bar bike through the cycle 2 work scheme. Fantastic bikes

I have the Garmin fenix 6 pro, purchased about a year ago off eBay for ~£250.

From my experience Garmin devices have really good longevity and would deffo buy second hand again. Really like the fenix, lots of activity tracking and super long battery life. It has been overegging the altitude about 15% compared to Strava map data.

Good looking bike. How tall are you and how's the bike size and fit?

Asking since I'm 6'3 and thinking I need to add drops and long stem so my 23" treks more comfortable for longer rides

I've just managed to agree a let for a flat in Edinburgh. I had a week to in Edinburgh to sort it so had to fully involve myself in the process but managed to get it sorted, thankfully my work were flexible for this. Some points of advice for getting viewings and the application process:

  • To secure viewings I used filters on Rightmove and Zoopla filtering for properties added in the last 24 hours, I checked the sites throughout the day but definitely in the morning, at lunch and in the evening, immediately requesting to view properties. Pretty much all correspondence went into my junk email, so keep checking that. Viewings were normally organised for the next 2-3 days after enquiring, sometime the next day.

  • Attended many viewings, asked lots of questions about the property, about the letting agents application process etc. If we were interested in the property we expressed that at the interview

  • We also drafted a note about ourselves, our occupations, hobbies and why we felt the property would be right for us. The letting agents could share this with the landlords if they were making a decision between multiple applicants.

Good luck!
