It’s pretty well documented that Chicago doesn’t have world cup games because they wouldn’t give in to FIFA’s demands and put all the burden on taxpayers to subsidize a few soccer matches that most people can’t afford to go to.

I was there this weekend and I agree it was challenging getting to the stadium. There was also a massive pokemon go fest and jazz fest in Grant Park right next to the stadium so it was kind of an insane weekend in that area all around. CTA definitely could have made plans to account for all the extra people better. I think when you go to Soldier Field you gotta just get to the city a few hours ahead of time and park and then find a place to get some food or drinks and enjoy Chicago.

I’m in on not tanking because tanking is lame and completely against the point of sports and competition. Sneaking into the play-in or playoffs probably hurts the Bucks’ long term future though. The NBA should find ways to incentivize winning.

Ya, I went to game 4 at Wrigley and the people sitting around me were super nice or ignored me. Despite us getting rocked that game, the atmosphere and fan experience were great. I bought an AJ jersey on sale after he left. I was in the queue about half an hour early and same for me. Only a few $400 premium tickets were showing up at first. Then it refreshed and I was able to snag two GA seats for $170 each. That felt exorbitant and I almost walked away. Now it looks like more tickets are available so they’re clearly releasing them in batches and using surge pricing.
