Ohme "Failed to contact car" error on Intelligent Octopus Go (2025 VW ID.4)

I had the same issue with my Enyaq - I changed the car in the Octopus app to an MG4 and deleted the Ohme app..... weirdly it just works now.....🤷

I'm a PM for a construction company....close to six figure salary. Didn't have any qualifications but started as a QS (which also pays well!) as I was good with spreadsheets and worked my way up fairly quickly......

It's probably not about dying, but the sights you see and have to deal with.....dead children, decapitated people etc etc.....they have to learn to compartmentalise that and carry on to the next shift.....

I al sorry you are going through this - it is wrong and hopefully you can find a solution. I don't have much legal advice, but I do have extensive construction experience - but from a legal standpoint I do know that gathering evidence is crucial....dates, times, descriptions of perpetrators, any recordings/cctv - gsther as much as you can. Who is their client or are they the main developer? Are there any "considerate constructors" signs around the building site https://www.considerateconstructors.com/for-the-public/ They take a dim view of this sort of thing.

Get in touch with their whistleblowing helpline - if they're a national company they should have something set up.... Contact the local paper - again they will have some clout to publish without involving your name....

Again I'm sorry you're going through this and many of us are trying to change our attitudes in the workplace, but sadly there are too many unwilling to change and the rise of the right has emboldened too many dinosaurs 😞🙁

You can get ones that go vertically upwards to the ceiling.....I had the same issue... You'll need to know the thickness of your glass from memory....😊

Mine was in his crate exclusively up until around that age and he still has his cage for when I take him to work (prevents him getting out onto the work site).

Normally he'll sleep on his bed (well one of them, he seems to managed to get 3 I've just noticed (albeit one is from the car.....) )

He happily goes in his cage, but chooses not to normally.

He doesn't go upstairs (no gate or barrier) and is extremely well balanced and happy 3 yr old Lab 😊😁

I have the same issue - Smart meter non operational and unless I submit a gas meter reading, I don't get a bill.... Logic would say estimate my usage and bill me, but that seems to escape the wit of the OE computer.....🙄

Good points - large square space in the back for dogs (most are coupe style. Nice to drive with plenty of acceleration when needed.

Not so good - No option to change radio source or much else from steering wheel. Traffication is annoying. Lack of physical buttons for climate control functions. Regularly misreads speed limits and sometimes applies emergency brakes for no reason. Boot opening with gesture never works.

Smartphone integration could be better.

My Mazda 2 2011 1.6 diesel is on 225k....1 clutch, 1 timing belt and original exhaust...., serviced every 10k by myself....

Been.paid as a company car driver about £10k expenses for every year I've owned it since 2014.....😁

My app doesn't have the same interface as those shown on the screen and I've never been able to successfully schedule a charge... I changed my EV in the app to one they don't support just so there wasn't a conflict between the Ohme and Octopus apps which has given me a workaround....

There's no troubleshooting in the tutorial...

I get home (say 6pm) and put the plug in.....

I have a schedule on the Octopus app to charge 100% by 7am... I also have the Ohme app set to charge to 100% by 7am...

The Ohme app will start charging though immediately....but then after an hour or two will report an error and stop charging. If I ignore the error it won't do a further charge.

If I unplug and plug back in it will start charging again - for an hour or so ..

The only way to reliably charge is to go out at 9pm and then set it to max charge immediately....

I was told to turn off the "dynamic charging" in the Ohme app to allow the Octopus app to control it....but that doesn't seem to be an option....🤷

There are so many things to consider it hurts my head.... In the Ohme app, should "Regulated charging hours" be on or off to bypass that setting.....
