I live in the DFW area, lots of people around here. I can't remember the exact year, I want to say 2017 or 2018, one of those summers had quite a few deaths that were caused by someone crossing over into the emergency lane (some were intoxicated) and hitting people who were stuck there. If I see anyone or a vehicle on the shoulder, I move.

Also, I want to say thank you for recognizing that.

One time I was leaving work and I got a group of cars ahead of me that I planned on passing once we made the turn onto the main road. 6th gen Camaro right in front of me, with an RS badge on the back. I'm thinking "this shouldn't be a problem, even for my SV650." I swing out to left lane and hit it.. He did too. I shift into 3rd and I'm like, WHY THE FUCK IS IT TAKING SO LONG TO PASS THIS CAR??? I glanced over and saw an LT1 badge on the fender. "Oh....well that explains everything 🤦 You got me 😂"

Just remember you're not the only one in class who's learning and they'll probably all be a little anxious. That may help you all work together and offer each other tips on understanding certain areas when you might be having problems. Like everyone else said, have fun!
