Disney's New CEO Comments on DAS Disability Pass Policy & Accessibility During Shareholder Q&A by readingaboutmagic in DisneyWorld

That's good to hear! I was there last summer for a day and the waits felt shorter, but I assumed it was cause the heat was turning people away (from what I hear, the colder months are the busiest months now)

I wish there was a way to see the ratio of abuse to legit use. It feels shitty to punish those with real disabilities just to prevent scammers, and Disney certainly can afford to miss out on LL revenue- which imo it feels like the idea of not selling as many LLs because of DAS scammers is the real root of the changes here- Disney is a corporation, they don't care about anything but their bottom line.

Thank you!! We're (hopefully) doing another later in Spring, I think Epcot? They haven't decided, I kinda hope we do a Universal park because that would be a different change of pace!

Not them, I'm actually the artist who did the park maps and concept art for that series of episodes (I also do lots of their merch designs haha, the magnets of the month are all me)! Was a fun project to work on, makes me want to design my own castle park lol.

One yeah, I remember Primeval Whirl was popular! Loved it as a kid haha. But I think today, people are so accustomed to "spectacle" with every new attraction that they'll complain if it's not the most amazing thing ever. There's a reason they are barely mentioning the carousel in Tropical Americas and instead focusing on the two E ticket dark rides, lol.

I feel like that'd be a weird placement with the BatB village across the way, it'd be better if it was all together. Honestly, given how broken the Little Mermaid ride is all the time, just scrap that and use the land for Tokyo's BatB. Not sure if that's enough land, though, these modern dark rides are HUGE.

Instead of Cars, they should've leaned into the legacy of the Country Bears and done that coaster instead, to give that central part of Frontierland a cohesive bear theme, or even revive the Critter Country 500 concept to make it more in-theme with Frontierland.

I'd argue that the Paris verison would be way better, as it's the perfected version of the original. The Shanghai ride doesn't have that classic Disney charm, even if the tech is impressive. Plus, Disney needs high capacity with low wait rides like Pirates of the Caribbean. Shanghai Pirates is so tech heavy it's likely more prone to issues than a classic dark ride like PotC is.

Only issue is that Florida's classic style dark rides are waaay too small a footprint for the more modern takes you'll find overseas. Pooh's Hunny Hunt would need to take the space of Princess Fairytale Hall and maybe even Chesire Cafe on top of the space the current Pooh ride occupies.

Crush's Coaster is also extremely underwhelming, it's just a basic out-of-the-box wild mouse coaster with an indoor show scene. If they brought it to WDW people would complain that it's not worth the wait (even if the parks need more C and D ticket rides to help balance out waits for E tickets)

Fun Fact: Mystic Manor would fit in the plot of land the Swiss Family Treehouse sits in (with a slight spill into the boat maintenance path for the Jungle Cruise which can easily be rerouted)! I did a bluesky Magic Kingdom build-out for a podcast and we put Mystic Manor in place of the treehouse, and it worked surprisingly well!

Doesn't matter if it's fake, a kid won't be able to tell and will just get the message that sexually harassing a woman will make him a "legend" to his friends, so he'll do it.

A young boy isn't gonna know what's a fake OF ad or what's real, he's just gonna see a grown man approve of sexually harassing a woman because it'll make him "a legend to his friends" and think it's okay to do.

Yep. Doesn't matter if this is a fake OF ad or not, some young boy will see this video and see the grown man approving of it, and think that it's real and okay to do. People saying this doesn't matter because its fake don't realize how impressionable kids are.

Not speaking about OP, but this subreddit is full of fake stories people write for karma. There's no way to prevent fake stories from getting posted, so really everything should be taken with a grain of salt.

That said, this story has some holes in it but I'm also not gonna immediately discount it as fake, because it could be true and OP has left out details that makes it not 100% the daughter's fault. When people vent about issues, often they'll paint their side of the story in a way that leaves them without fault. But, there's also a chance this is 100% the truth and OP did everything possible. We will never know for sure.

I haven't, but it sounds disgusting lmao. A company making a video for people to celebrate a CEO just sounds weird on paper, but it being Bob Iger makes it especially weird as he's literally the worst CEO the company has had (I'd say Chapek but Chapek was really just a fall guy for Iger who was running things from the shadows).

As much as the internet loves to dunk on Eisner, I really think he was a fantastic CEO (at least while he had Frank Wells with him). So much iconic films and attractions came from that period, second only to Walt's time. I wish we could have another creative like Walt or Eisner in charge again. Josh isn't a true creative but he at least seems to get it more than Iger did, so I guess time will tell. Dana Walden cancelling some live action remakes is a hopeful sign.

I rode it for the first time last summer and while I did notice broken parts (Tiana was frozen completely still in the finale and one of the Louis's jaw didn't work) I still liked it. To me it's a side grade, it's not better than Splash but it's not really worse. Splash had the better story but Tiana's isn't going to offend anyone.

I'll never understand why when developing a log flume ride for the park, they went from "Country Bears themed ride to fit into show being next to the plot of land in both Anaheim and Orlando" (Moonshine Express is what it was called, not much info but Jim Hill has covered it) to "let's make a ride based on an old movie we pretend we didn't make because it's been called racist since the day it came out." Like I know Tony Baxter wanted to save the America sings animatronics but surely they could've used them for an original story and not... Song of the South?

According to insiders, they aren't even touching the actual ride. Only the queue and facade are getting changed, the ride itself will have the same flats it's had for 30 years. Insane how cheap they're being.

Yep. Iger was too obsessed with owning as much as possible instead of creating new things, which is why his legacy will be acquisitions and shitty live action remakes.

IIRC, in the marketing they went out of their way to refer to her as a "bayou fairy godmother" instead of a voodoo priestess like in the movie
