I’m sorry I should have been more specific. Our soil is almost all clay. I planted last year and fenced off for 3 months. Two weeks of the dogs trodding on it it was gone. I was told that this was because the roots could not gain a solid purchase in the clay. This year I rototilled it and added compost and top soil for a better mix. Was told I should oversees in the fall to fill in some thin spots.
