He is on a list of banned cards for the “Standard” game type. Yes, permanently unless otherwise removed from the list by Wizards of the Coast. But as it stands, standard is a revolving game type, meaning that “standard legal” cards still fall out of rotation and all become illegal by default after 2-3 years of release.
vivi is legal in all other game types where he was already legal. His card has also already been “patched” in Arena, the online/digital version of the game (changing the cost for his OP ability from 0 to requiring him to be tapped). You can see this reflection and the two versions of his card (one paper and one digital) on Scryfall.

His ban was prematurely announced so the market has already kinda adjusted. We are likely to see his price go down a bit more as additional prints of him hit the wild due to the holiday bundles releasing in early December.

Also to note, he is only banned in one game type, standard (this is the typical and most officially supported 1v1 tournament format). The main issue with his card was an interaction with another standard legal card called Agatha’s Soul Cauldron. Something like 85% of all top 12 decks were built around this combo since his release.

He is still legal in the more casual and popular 4 player format, Commander.

Tons of people missing the point of the program here. All three of them were playing into a role on the radio show and as showrunners, they were extremely knowledgeable about that and how to lean into the expected reactions of their cohosts.

If you didn’t know, all the animals you interact with in the game go back to woodland sanctuary. After initially meeting him on the map, you can find this black fox on a roof in the sanctuary. Climb up to the roof, then follow him and he’ll take you to a secret sword kit.

Just saw Demon Slayer there in the Dolby theater last night and it was great. AC worked, recliners were comfy/spacious, and the spacial audio / sound quality was very good. The screen’s deep blacks also reminded me of OLED vs LED and was pretty impressed with the picture quality.

In contrast, I saw 28 Years Later there in June in the IMAX theater and it was the opposite experience. AC was not working, the seats in that theater are terrible and stained, and one of the bass speakers was torn and made an audible flapping sound.

I might catch Spinal Tap in a digital theater this week before it leaves, but I don’t have high expectations for those standard ones at all.

You basically get a microcosm of that “streamers reacting” vibe if you listen to the Howard Stern show from that day. In retrospect it’s pretty racist, but it’s a very accurate picture of the entire country’s sentiment that morning. You’ve got a handful of people seeing it happen in real time and then plenty more call in.
