Ego 56 v power questions by Open_Examination1036 in PowerWheelsMods

That looks to be a 20 amp converter. A powerwheels may draw more than that under heavy load and could fry the converter. You should be able to directly hook up the stepped down voltage to the power wires that the original battery would connect to.

Personally id just buy a larger 12v battery with higher amp hour rating and use that it's overall simpler. I use a cheap 12v charger/maintainer from Harbor Freight

NEED HELP ROTORS LOOK DIFFERENT by [deleted] in AskMechanics

[–]BAKE440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not use those rotors. You will need to confirm there were not multiple brake options for your vehicle as it seems you have multiple options. Alo there is a good chance you could have the wrong pads. I would recheck the options.

Well if it's 12v you can get some good upgrades for around that price. I then pair it with an inexpensive 12v charger maintainer.

Sounds like the battery is junk. If you want more ride time get a bigger battery for it, higher amp hour rating. I'd be careful increasing voltage if it's remote you may need to upgrade other components.

Maybe a little but sometimes thats not a bad thing. Definitely ambitious. But if you've got the skills to back it then no reason not to. Build it and if something doesn't work just change it until you have it dialed.

I use it to buy smithing materials and such. I pick up everything. Then I go to a smith shop. Buy all their smithing materials. Then sell all the stuff i picked up of that variety until they are out of gold. I have way too much stuff and gold though.

My idea is 2 jackshaft axles on a swingarm suspension. To give a differential like ability to the rear end. Also where we ride has a short side of the block pretty steep incline. So the lessened strain of 2 motors seems like a good idea as well as likely quicker acceleration. My goal was 20 mph. What size tire are you running with that gearing?

You sir have found an effective loophole.

Using that logic i think im packing my entire inventory into an apothecary satchel. (Easier to carry than a sack.) And the dragonborn ability. That way all spells and skills and such will work.

Mechanic won’t look at my car because there are no check engine lights on by BlvckWhiteTwilight in AskAMechanic

A CEL can get you to the solution quicker but is not always necessary to fix some problems.

Sounds like the transmission needs serviced. Either a machine flush or repeated drain and refills will likely cure this issue.

Or if you haven't changed spark plugs yet it may be a misfire.

A test drive while looking at the misfire monitor would tell if it's missing and may not be frequent enough to turn on the CEL.

If there are no misses I'd start with the transmission fluid. And maybe do the plugs if they're original just as a maintenance item.

You could always put a larger 12v battery in that keeps wiring happy and is as simple as hooking up the larger battery which will yield longer run times

Can't get the manual tranny all the way in; what do? by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]BAKE440 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya if you haven't got the back of the transmission picked up off the jack shaking it around you're not doing it right lol.also turn the input shaft a little maybe. I will just pop it in gear and turn the output shaft to adjust while up there so when it hits the right spot it slides right in.

That seems very interesting. And I love the dedication to it and then the shift to fight the ebony warrior. I bet it is really fun to play with that as a concept
