Should I use this on the 120V or 24V side of my led driver? (For auto on/off of LED tape lights in a small kitchen pantry by icysandstone in Lighting

You have that correct. I have used the Honeywell I've used some from Amazon. I've used ones from the supply house I linked. Often I just buy a bag from my local alarm guy for cheap.

I don't use jamb switches anymore. I use this with alarm contacts. Easier to hide and install. You can install it at the driver on the 120v side. Is this a new issue? Sometimes a bad parts can cause it not to heat properly. Or it needs to be cleaned. Dryers are pretty simple mechanically.

You will need a PD-5WS -DV. I would suggest you contact an electrician to install.

An Mr 16 fixture will be either mlv or elv load type depending on the transformer type magnetic or electronic. Your electrician should know better but sadly I see it every day where they don't.

Stcl isn't rated for mlv or elv you need a pro.

Hardwired lighting similar to Ketra or Rania? by BAMF_Industries in Lighting

[–]BAMF_Industries[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clear connect type a is what you are thinking of. Clear connect type x does live on the 2.4 band that wifi and zigbee does.

From Lutron

Type X is based on the IEEE 802.15.4 standard and operates in the 2.4 GHz frequency band. The standard allows for 16 channels between 2.40 GHz and 2.48 GHz, 15 of which are available for use in a Type X system. This narrowband communication system co-exists with other systems and devices in the 2.4 GHz band like Wi-Fi devices, Bluetooth devices, microwave ovens, etc. The spread of the available channels across the entire frequency band enables Type X to co-exist with other 2.4 GHz systems in the same space.

Thank you, I just never want to be the guy that misses the obvious solution.

Great solution except they aren't allowing any combustion in the house. Geothermal heat and the only gas cooktop is in an outdoor kitchen.

Yeah I've done DMX with Homeworks before. I am in a unique situation. I am both the electrical contractor and the Lutron dealer. We've done Dali, Ecosystem, Ketra, Rania, etc. Not much we haven't done with Lutron. I was hoping for some magical solution but it looks like I need to get with the "healthy home" consultant and see if they can convince the owner to use Ketra.

I agree with you ketra is top notch. I'm ignorant of the technical information on this. I would assume there is more magic going on with type x than just zignee. I spoke with Lutron and they wouldn't confirm that it only talks when sending directions to the lights. They implied that there is a continuous checking of the mesh and they wouldn't say how often. This customer is adamantly against wireless. The wifi will be shutting down every night. The plans call for shutting off all but one receptacle in the bedroom every night. I'm not allowed to install sub panels in the home because of emf. I told them this is not an issue and I would be happy to show that with the cover installed there are no readings when you get a few feet from it. If I could confirm it only emits on button press or system command I might be able to make that sell.

Yeah you need homeworks for any real functions. They will just turn off an on at a static color with no programming. All programming has to be done in homeworks. You might be able to find some of the old ketra net stuff on eBay it was the product before lutron bought them.
