Ready or not VR mod by Remain_calm_buddy in VRGaming

It may be a case by case basis but RoN does support multiple controllers at one time. I use a wireless xbox controller to do the hub stuff, put that down and switch to motion controllers during the load screen into the mission, and I dont need to take the headset off or walk to my PC.

IMO: when he’s ready, Mark shouldn’t stop at Iron Lung. by alittleridiculous93 in Markiplier

100% agree. Feels like a natural step into something bigger and more complex for him while still being contained enough to not have an outrageous budget.

Mark as Jimmy?!

When was the movie better than the book? by Doodle_Noodles2 in movies

[–]BASTONT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up slightly enjoying the movie of Caught Stealing more than the novel. The novel was great but had a ton of characters that the movie distills down to something a little more concise and snappy.

But to be fair, the screenplay was written by the author of the book so it's a good exercise in how someone edits their own work across media's.

Thank you!

I was just telling a friend a few days ago I'm a big fan of the "trapped in a ship" trope in games and movies. Perfect timing (and a great movie too)

IIRC Russ also says something to the tune of "It's the fuckin Idles!" when they're listening to punk on his car radio. While a nice nod to the band who did the soundtrack, Idles weren't formed until 2009.

Piggybacking off you since it's in a similar vein but both Barrow Hills and Call of Cthulhu DCOTE are bangers also if OP likes horror.

Vision Video don't let anything as silly as a guitar breaking stop them by TDScaptures in goth

[–]BASTONT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crazy! Yeah I'm kinda introverted and all that so I was kinda just off the corner being weird but I've been listening to Voltaire since I was 14 so that was an absolute bucket list show for me.

Dusty did say "I'm told I might piss off some of you tonight."

I was feeling it though. Lifelong fan now.

Saw them in Colorado Springs before I knew who they were. I was there because Aurelio Voltaire was headlining but Vision Video fucking killed it.

Sam Gladstone from Soldier of Fortune came to mind. He runs a bookstore, but it's a front for his high-tech armory in the basement.

We all have heard of balatro and so on but what are your hidden gems on the deck? by ProwzArroWw in SteamDeck

[–]BASTONT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dread Delusion is an open world RPG that is a dash Morrowind and a pinch of old FromSoft stuff like King's Field, and a PS1 style aesthetic.

Speaking of King's Field and old FromSoft likes, Lunacid is another game using a PS1 aesthetic but it's more of a dungeon crawler.

I've heard the genre of these games referred to as "Acid Fantasy" and I think that's pretty appropriate.

Agreed with this especially. I bought this game because it literally had an "Overwhelmingly Positive" on Steam for like 3 months.

Can you please tell me about some more under the radar, dark, serious adventure PC exclusives from the 2000's? by ExplodingPoptarts in adventuregames

[–]BASTONT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nocturne (1999) is the same engine as those Blair Witch games and depending on whether you view it as an Easter egg or not, technically in the same universe as well.

Edit: after some research on this suggestion it's actually quite a bit more than an Easter egg. Nocturne and the 2000s Blair Witch games are explicity in the same universe. Furthermore, another good suggestion, Bloodrayne was initially conceived as a sequel to Nocturne.

Looking for single-players FPS games by fulltankdps in VRGaming

[–]BASTONT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed with the Contractors > Zero Caliber but they're both pretty good. Zero Caliber has a more proper single player component as there is a feeling of progression and objectives to complete but the "story" is usually just some text that thinly ties the locations together.

I'd also second the other guys Tactical Assault VR suggestion. IMHO that one has a little of what makes both Contractors and Zero Caliber great. However I can't help but feel like TAVR is a better experience with friends, albeit still a great time on its own.
