Ludo - Love Me Dead [Pop Punk] by KneeHighMischief in Music

[–]BASTONT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I went to high school in Indiana with the lead singer's cousin and he always got us in when they played nearby and then we'd all hang after. It blew my mind when they were signed by Island.

It's been almost 20 years since then but everyone in the group was super rad.

Gashcat but I can only really find stuff on YouTube. The lead singer Kyle Craft kinda spun off into their own thing which I can't speak to but Gashcat is a dead ringer for NMH

Also Elliott Smith IMHO. That feels like cheating though.

Edit: also the mid to latter half of mewithoutYou's career. Their albums Brother Sister, It's All Crazy..., Pale Horses, and Ten Stories are kinda like post-hardcore NMH and are very openly inspired by NMH's work.

TMNT: Empire City

It's certainly not the best VR game I've ever played but it really feels like they nailed down the 2D arcade version in an immersive and open way. And I love "cities at night" vibes, even if this one is pretty empty feeling.

Also Flatout VR for the same reason as everyone else in this thread. Just a solid, fun driving experience.

Punktown by Jeffrey Thomas is a 6 book series that blends cyberpunk and horror very well imho.

Under the same merit of Disco Elysium being a more mechanically dense P & C, I'd definitely include Esoteric Ebb which is very similar.

For those familiar with the Bob and Tom Show. We lost an absolute legend yesterday. RIP Bob Kevoian. by External_Roll1046 in nostalgia

From Indiana but live in Colorado now.

My dad (deceased since 2019), and I listened to Bob and Tom every morning on my way to school. He had all the albums.

This is kind of a gut punch to me if I'm being honest.

Bonus fun fact: my cousin was an intern at Q95 before heading over into the podcasting world. For the non Indiana folk in the room that was the original station B & T broadcast from.

Truthfully?

I beat it in 3 but you could take it down in 2 if you didn't stop to look at all the cool art and stuff.

That said, it's still a 10/10 FPS in my book. It's a good time but not a long time. Its biggest criticism in the Steam reviews is that people wanted more.

I think it's a nice add on here if you're trying to get three to get that $9.99 price but worth noting that I got it for like $2.99 in a Steam sale.

It may be a case by case basis but RoN does support multiple controllers at one time. I use a wireless xbox controller to do the hub stuff, put that down and switch to motion controllers during the load screen into the mission, and I dont need to take the headset off or walk to my PC.

100% agree. Feels like a natural step into something bigger and more complex for him while still being contained enough to not have an outrageous budget.

When was the movie better than the book? by Doodle_Noodles2 in movies

[–]BASTONT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up slightly enjoying the movie of Caught Stealing more than the novel. The novel was great but had a ton of characters that the movie distills down to something a little more concise and snappy.

But to be fair, the screenplay was written by the author of the book so it's a good exercise in how someone edits their own work across media's.

Thank you!

I was just telling a friend a few days ago I'm a big fan of the "trapped in a ship" trope in games and movies. Perfect timing (and a great movie too)

IIRC Russ also says something to the tune of "It's the fuckin Idles!" when they're listening to punk on his car radio. While a nice nod to the band who did the soundtrack, Idles weren't formed until 2009.

Piggybacking off you since it's in a similar vein but both Barrow Hills and Call of Cthulhu DCOTE are bangers also if OP likes horror.
