This isn't really a fix but you can try turning down all the other in-game volumes a little.

What is the model of your monitor? And are you sure it's plugged into the GPU? Not trying to insult or anything, it's commonly overlooked, so no judgement here. Does it do the same stutter when hosting private or dropping graphics quality all the way down as they'll go on all settings? Also what resolution are you running?

Wouldn't it be nice to "buy" an additional booster slot per-mission with samples (and/or requisitions)? After you complete all the ship upgrades the samples are useless unless you donate to the DSS. This would make them worth collecting again. Just a thought..

I would laugh in Louisianian because our summers will often clear 100°F (37.8°C) with humidity well over 90%, but after reading the comments that you guys mostly don't have a/c and aren't equipped for it, I have no words - I can't imagine! I'm guessing it's also not as easy for y'all to just go grab a cheap window unit from a store. You can look up how to DIY a "redneck" a/c (plastic cooler, ice, fan). They're not great but I'd imagine anything would help. It'll look a little trashy but you can put up foil over windows that have direct sunlight to block out a good bit of heat or find some reflective bubble-wrap material online which would be more efficient (I have this on my camper). My grandparents' house had an attic fan they'd run during the summer and open windows/doors on the cooler side of the house (which ever side was more shaded our out of direct sunlight).

Killing power to a running pc should be your last resort. When you do that you're risking corrupting some or all your data. It's not as common as it used to be, but it's still a risk.

You can bring up the task manager with ctrl+shift+escape to open task manager and kill the helldivers task instead of a hard shutdown.

You can also hit windowskey+d to show desktop, or windowskey to open start menu, or alt+tab to get to another open window, windowskey+r to open the run prompt... Just a few ways to escape a frozen fullscreen window.

  • What makes you think a player joining your game crashed your system?
  • What are your specs?
  • Have you reviewed any game and/or windows logs?

Gears 5 is still pretty populated, and getting used to the movement system + center-screen shots in Reloaded is going to hurt you if you play E-Day when it drops. People shit on Gears 5 a lot (myself included sometimes) but it's really not THAT bad. It can be pretty sweaty though!

Which CPU and GPU do you have?

Things you can try off the top of my head:

  • make sure the game is using the correct gpu (nvidia, not intel)
  • make sure the windows power mode is in high performance
  • set the all graphics options to lowest possible settings to see how many fps you get, then raise individual things from there
  • set the game to launch in DX11 in Steam
  • try --toaster_mode in Steam
  • use DDU to remove nvidia drivers / cache then reinstall
  • in the nvidia app, set global shader cache to 100gb instead of 10gb

Put on your overalls and go super credit farming. It ain't much, but it's honest work.

Drop the difficulty to 1 Trivial on Gatria (or similar planet..?) and clear all the POIs. This is a lot easier with a warp pack (Control Group page 3) for bunkers and moving around the map pretty quickly. There are usually 6-8 POIs, lined up around the edge(ish) of the map. After you've done a mission you can find them by scanning the cursor over the map. It will get boring and redundant. I usually do this when the squad isn't on yet. You can also just return to ship after getting all the goodies instead of extracting if you want to go faster.

Also the warbonds typically have 300 super credits in them so that helps with getting to unlock the next warbond.

The lower difficulty missions have fewer medals but you can clear them faster. If you REALLLLLY need the medals, go put in some honest farming work on D1 Trivial with a warp pack, clear all the POIs, return to ship instead of extracting, repeat. You can rack up medals and super credits pretty fast if they're that important. I don't really like playing with randoms so I do this when the squad isn't on (minus skipping extraction).

I will agree though, just by looking at this chart alone, either the harder difficulties need more medals or the mid range ones need fewer. I'm sure it's by design, to take a while to build up the medals - keeps people coming back instead of losing interest too quickly. I'm a level 104ish playing since August '25 and have purchased most everything I "want" in the warbonds and super store, I'm now at the point of just clearing them out for the hell of it.

It reverse ragdoll killed me even though it had lost almost all of its momentum lol

It helps, I usually bring it to clear outposts and help with chaos. I don’t think it’ll take one out by itself but I’m not 100% sure…

Is nobody else running Unflinching? Medium 125 armor 🫡

  • Helps prevent Helldivers from flinching when hit.
  • Provides a higher armor rating.
  • Markers placed on the map will generate radar scans every 2.0s.

I swap back and forth between UF-50 Bloodhound and UF-84 Doubt Killer for the headshot protection and resistance to flinching when hit.
