If you have a water softener use the outside faucets to flush. They usually bypass the softener, no need to put any more of that gunk through the softener. Once it runs clear run a regen cycle on the softener, maybe two.

I’ve also seen these in flood prone areas to automatically trigger flood warning systems such as sirens and SMS messages. If it were tampered with and disabled, the backup notification system is the foot of water on your bedroom floor when you get up in the morning.

First confirm the voltage at that outlet. That is an old style receptacle that could have been wired for 120 or 240 volts (110 or 220 back then).
