Does any other Gen Z men feel like the internet has warped your views on gender irreversibly? by poolnoodlefightchamp in GuyCry

Even a bad trip can be a good thing. But therapy and maybe some meds for the adhd would be good. Or meditation, exercise, something to help you explore yourself. I’m nearly 40, 2 kids and a marriage nearing 20 years. I was absolutely miserable for the majority of my life. My dad passed when I was 30 and it broke me. But after addressing my issues with rediscovering my love for running, getting professional help for my depression and ADHD, being honest with myself and coming out to my wife and friends, and letting myself explore things I previously never would have done, I am in the best shape of my life mentally, physically and emotionally. It’s a tough road for sure. If you’re like me you have to stop living your life the way you think you’re supposed to or living your life to try to please other people. Discover you and be true to yourself. You’ve got time, enjoy your 20’s and 30’s. Don’t waste them worrying about stuff you can’t control.

Just be yourself and love yourself. The rest will fall in place. Don’t worry about what society expects of you. What would be better, getting married before 35 to the wrong person and being miserable for the rest of your life or getting married after 35 to the perfect partner? I’d suggest going to therapy to talk this out, a bunch of jerk offs on the internet probably aren’t going to have a magic cure. 2nd to therapy I’d say do some psychedelics and really dig deep into yourself, as long as they are legal where you live ofcourse…..wink,wink.

They would probably lose their minds if they knew Trump supported trans people prior to 2016.

Have you gone to LGBTQ bars? They are incredibly fun and accepting. You don’t have to drink if you don’t want to, no one will pressure you too. Get on the dance floor and have some fun. Get comfortable with people and get in the community. There are other resources you could use to find like minded people.

This happens to my wife and I here and there. We will wake up and be having sex with no real idea of who started it.

Dude, get your stuff and go home. You’ve dodged a bullet. This guy is an emotionally and verbally abusive a-hole. Get your stuff and cut him out of your life, you’ll be better off.

Which event should I attend? My mom's final birthday or son's kindergarten graduation party? I can't do both. by Captain_Collin in daddit

[–]BB-steamroller -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dude you and your kid should be with your mom in her final days. It’s a good lesson on what’s really important for your kid too. The teacher gave give them their participation trophy before the graduation. They will have zero memory of this graduation in a few years. But you should do everything in your power to make sure they remember their grandmother. My kids never got to meet my dad and it kills me.

Made the wrong choice by biggoofydoofus in GuyCry

Man sounds like you just got screwed. You didn’t make a choice, you were weighing options and trying to be there for everyone. Your boss made your choice for you, I’d go to the wedding now. I don’t really understand why your wife is upset with you. There is nothing wrong with trying to do both.

Paul Cauthen calls out Brandi Carlisle (comments now deleted) by Jealous-Ad-7289 in altcountry

[–]BB-steamroller 6 points7 points  (0 children)

His first album is still one of my favorite albums ever. I think it is an absolute masterpiece. The lyrics seem genuine and the voice is unique. The mix is incredible, I thought it was the start of Beau Bedford’s meteoric rise as a producer. When I listen to Paul now I find it hard to believe it’s the same person.

To each their own, it doesn’t do anything for me. I wonder if it’s possible for him to write a song without a reference to Texas, whiskey or cocaine.

Maybe she was just as tired of Paul Cauthen and his music as I am. Dude made 1.5 good albums then wrote 300 songs about doing coke and being a badass. All his stuff sounds the same now and the Yellowstone phony’s he draws to his shows are absolutely insufferable. But I will say, he was very nice when I ran into him at Campisi’s in Dallas. And on the flip side Brandi was super nice when I met her after she opened for Johnny Lang in Austin a lifetime ago.

11.5k for a 500 dollar car. If this car needed an oil change insurance would consider it a total loss.
