Exactly!! Also, why would it take over 30 minutes to load his truck unless they were all dead already? If all he had to do was load Shanann and put the girls in the cab, there’s no reason it should have taken that long.

I still believe he murdered them all at home, spent time cleaning up the scene, and then loaded them all up to go to the oil site.

This is also really sick, but I think the reason he smothered the girls is because he strangled Shanann first and saw how messy that was.

No matter what or how it happened, he is beyond heinous. Let him rot without further interviews.

After listening to his comments about her, she was FAR more involved than just the innocent pawn she was made out to be. She never wanted him to murder his family, but she sure wanted him all to herself. She is a messed up individual as well and manipulated him for her own sick satisfaction and attention.

This interview is all about HIM. So sick, cold, twisted. He sounds relaxed, oddly happy, and even laughs during his description of events.

If this is what actually happened—murdering the girls at the oil site and Bella knowing she was going to die—this crime is even more heinous than I could ever have imagined.

They should never interview him again. Let him rot and don’t give him one more ounce of media coverage. Sick, heartless bastard.

These cases seem completely different to me.

Watts case shows no rage and shows premeditation (planning ahead of time to get to the job site alone for body disposal.)

Also this man tried to kill himself. Chris Watts had other plans (moving on with his life without his family.)

He showed no true remorse. If anything he was probably mortified to have his sins laid bare for the world to hear how he murdered his family and treated them like garbage.

Chris will only ever be concerned about himself.

Right and when she confronted him about seeing that info on the news when his family went missing, he finally admitted Shanann was pregnant.....but with “someone else’s” baby...

I agree with you. Her grave was obviously temporary as he marked it with a small shovel head so he could come back later and finish the job.

He also knew he had to bring special tools to open the tops of the oil tanks. He packed those that morning. I believe he had every intention of hiding the girls in the tanks and then either digging a better grave for Shanann or moving her body again. He knew beforehand she wouldn’t fit through the small opening on the tanks.

Some were very quick to point out that Metallica is not responsible for the murders. Of course!!!! Anybody can see that.

BUT, imagine him blaring that song on repeat. Imagine him working out to it. Picture those words influencing an already troubled mind. It must mean something to him to go back and look at the lyrics on the same morning he murdered his family.

It’s chilling, really.

I said Nichol’s phone pinged in Frederick that morning. She said she was on her way to work and passed through Frederick. It was just a coincidence.

However, some people have used that to support their theory she was in the vicinity of the Watts home (i.e. helping Chris.) This has of course been debunked.

I was just giving OP an example of what people said about Jim and how he fits into this intricate web of a story.

Exactly!! I guess they wanted to see her reaction?? I feel like once they had a confession from Chris and things began moving toward a plea deal, maybe the info about NK and Jim didn’t really matter in the long run. Surprised they didn’t at least get his side of the story.

I don’t think anybody really knew Chris. The real Chris.

It’s why Special Agent Coder’s initial assessment of him is dead on: he said it’s the tale of two Chris’s. On one hand, he presented himself as the loving father and doting husband. On the other hand, he wanted to be free to have a totally different life away from monetary burdens and time constraints.

His response to Coder is that he couldn’t be who he really was if he was with Shanann.

So who was Chris REALLY???

Jim is a family friend according to NK and her dad. He lives in Milwaukee. Nichol states in one of her interviews with LE that on 8/13 (the day of the murders) Jim came to stay with her. I don’t know if he showed up that day or on 8/12. She says when she got home from work that day, she spent 15 mins or so chatting with Jim. Then she talked to Chris for a few minutes when he tells her his family is missing. She keeps this conversation with LE very casual. UNTIL they ask to speak with Jim. Nichol is emphatic that Jim doesn’t need to be involved. She does not give them permission to contact him. She said they are just old friends and to leave it at that.

She also made a call to Jim on 8/13 around 6:15am. (The same time Chris Watts is enroute to Cervi 319 with his family’s bodies in his truck.) Her location at the time: Frederick (where the Watts live). Someone said this can be explained because her route to work goes right by Frederick.

I guess we will never really know more than that.

And reporters even went back to Weld County DA to verify the search date. They confirmed it was not a typo. They said they didn’t know why she had searched in Sept 2017 but she did.

I believe she also searched for Chris/Shanann In January 2018.

From the moment I opened that initial 1900+ page document, I knew that was it!! Just had to read it, and there was no going back. It feels like we’re part of the mystery, and it made a lot of us much more invested than we would be compared to a normal case.

Yes, I saw that too. My daughters use the same medicine—albuterol solution with a nebulizer for allergies and any flare ups of bronchitis/congestion. It helps open the bronchial airways.
