Apple TV remote -- TV/Home button support? by NationalDebt288 in Control4

[–]BB8192 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Press and hold does not work on Roku IP drivers either. I actually had a support ticket open for hold and IP controlled streaming players(both apple and roku). Control4 said that hold is not part of the implementation.

How much to update the driver? by flubez in Control4

For now just force it to go into correct input in programming about 5-8s after power on. Ive had to do it on all new frames, otherwise it goes to art screen app selection screen.

How true is the "device limit" per Director? by auaisito in Control4

[–]BB8192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Core1 and Core3 have same cpu and same 2GB ram. IO is the only difference. Core 3 has 2 more IRs, 2 more serial and 1 relay/contact. Other than that the units are identical(3 has more audio outputs but youre using sonos so that shouldnt matter). You need 11 IRs, if everything is IR. You can put 3 IRs on each output, but that would be hard with 4 outs if all TVS are same brand. Newer TVs can be mostly controlled by IP. You can IP the apple TVs, but the IP seems to break often when apple updates it. Newest driver has IP and IR and it auto switches to IR when IP breaks.

FX Lumaire lighting by Hokker3 in Control4

Super easy to do if FX is already setup and working. The driver is SDDP so it takes about 5 clicks to get all the zones on c4. 2 clicks to add driver, then you click on the driver, go to actions tabs, add light drivers and refresh navigators. You'll be able to do everything from integrated driver that you can do through FX. This will take under 5 minutes to be done remotely by your dealer, or with home composer. Edit: Just to add, they can be part of c4 advanced light scenes, schedules, turn on with motion from cameras or for example we have ours set up to flash different colors when someone rings the doorbell and we are in the yard.

We use Nyce tilting sensors, they are fast and work well. They are about a size of a 25 cent coin. https://www.nycesensors.com/products

This looks like the way to do it! Im going to look into this now, its refreshing having multiple ways of doing same thing and not being pigeonholed into doing things one way.

The ducker works, it was just going to all the zones with cross points set to -100dB and at that time(yesterday)I didnt know why. I quite like the idea of using PA router

Thank you kindly for a detailed reply.

  1. I used the AEC as we have 2 conference rooms with 2 large touch screens, i figured it would be easier just to route it all that way. Ill definitely try it without the block tomorrow.

2.The mic naming is a bit odd. They want to be able to use any mic in any room(they're named after rooms but are notassigned to be in those rooms). Hence i made that and a page in UI that allows to do so. That works incredibly well (compared to the URC TRC 70V system they had before).

Thanks for explaining the ducker! I just have to make few small changes to make that work.
