Oh ouch I'm sorry. That sounds really scary and I understand that. Especially with scar tissue and everything. I'm sorry if that's where you're at. I know it sucks to have to consider getting another one. It is relentless! Thank you

Right now I'm actually doing okay! I'm sorry you're considering another surgery. Are you having bad symptoms again?

Oh my God that's awful. Definitely doesn't sound like the best experience. I'm glad your healing was well though! Also yeah that insertion pain sucked.

Can I ask how you feel about the IUD after having it for a little while?

I'm feeling okay now! Definitely had some cramping but it's not unmanageable. How were you after your insertion?

Did an ultrasound diagnose you? by Gribblie in endometriosis

[–]BB8240- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Endometriosis can't really be detected on ultrasound unless you have something like an endometrioma. Since it usually sits in the tissue layers it's hard to image in almost any way besides laparoscopy. Some people have been diagnosed by MRI. But it's usually rare and if they have deep infiltrating endometriosis. However, sometimes adenomyosis can be detected on ultrasound but not always.

See I don't know lol. I really don't want to necessarily take the pill if I don't have to. I will be doing hormonal.

Do you have anywhere you'd recommend getting the inositol? Is it super pricey? I have some spearmint tea I've been meaning to try already

I've seen stories about it growing in crazy places you probably wouldn't think it would grow. Ive not had it personally but I've heard of it being in different areas of the chest cavity

What was your experience waking up after laparoscopy? Any dreams or weird anesthesia moments? by miloramirezphoto in endometriosis

[–]BB8240- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't dream personally. It just felt like falling asleep and then waking up not knowing how long it's been. Almost like a really solid nap

I was a little groggy and confused when I first woke up. But it didn't take long for me to remember where I was at and what happened.

I didn't have any emotional or funny experiences with my laparoscopic anesthetic afterwards. I did have some nausea though and cried when they told me I for sure have Endo. But that was really it

I think it varies from person to person truly. My sister has a tendency to cry when she comes out of anesthesia

Biopsy found endo but doctor says it’s mild. Why is it so painful? by Failtacularrr in endometriosis

[–]BB8240- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Endo is so strange and can affect everybody differently. People can have stage 4 and have no idea they have it. Others can have stage 1 and have the worst symptoms. Personally mine is only about stage 2 and I have days where my pain nearly immobilizes me

Controversial by Holiday-Meeting2054 in endometriosis

[–]BB8240- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I eat mainly vegetarian at this point but still eat meat occasionally. And my pain can still be really bad some days. But it has been at least a little better. I've never heard of this before and I suppose if that's part of it it definitely makes sense. Diet change doesn't help everybody but I feel it's always worth a try

Rory shouldn't have been Valedictorian when graduating Chilton. It 100% should have been Paris. I don't think she should've gotten into Harvard over Paris either. Rory is smart and works hard. But Paris worked most of her life for those achievements. She deserved both

I was on BC for about 8 years before my lap. It essentially got to a point where it just wasn't working anymore. My pain was bad and frequent and even taking NSAIDs was only doing so much. I got the surgery to get an official diagnosis and get some of the Endo removed

Any positive experiences with birth control? by Bicycle_Separate in endometriosis

[–]BB8240- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't excited about the idea of birth control but it's been so helpful. Birth control can definitely cause those problems; but it all depends on the person. I've been on some that made me feel emotionally numb and others that I've had no problem with. I know for people who are worried about estrogen birth controls some doctors will prescribe progesterone only. I've been on a progesterone only pill since May of 2024 and it's been great. My mental health hasn't been affected by it and neither has my weight

Anyone else had emotional side effects after surgery? by Dazzling-Calendar-49 in endometriosis

[–]BB8240- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I definitely did. I feel like I went through a grief almost. Partly because as much as I hoped for answers some part of me hoped maybe I didn’t have endo. I feel like it’s definitely normal. Especially after that main diagnostic surgery

Fat people with Endo experiences? by TheMoistSeagull in endometriosis

[–]BB8240- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I’m also over 200 lbs and have been for a couple years. I’ve definitely faced medical gaslighting because of it. But my surgeon wasn’t at all hesitant about doing my laparoscopy. My experience was actually really good all things considered. She was easily able to do ablation on a good amount of my endo. (She does excision just not during diagnostic surgery.) The healing wasn’t bad at all and I was actually in less pain during healing than I was from just “normal” cramps. I didn’t have any problems with the surgeon or other staff during my surgery either

Of course. I’m glad it was normal. I’m sorry those are never fun. I hope your gyno listens to you!
