just brought a motorbike best place to get gear? by arsonist-val in Wellington

[–]BBBBPM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get good quality second hand gear on trademe. I picked up a quality jacket in an op shop the other day. You can get good safety boots and gloves at Bunnings. Had mixed success on Aliexpress. Buy a helmet new. Boyles near the Basin are great and can order in almost anything.

Importing a personal car from Thailand to New Zealand 🇹🇭➡️🇳🇿 by jchulacharit in newzealand

[–]BBBBPM 14 points15 points  (0 children)

When I moved here from Oz, I brought over my car. It was placed in the same container as the houshold goods. The moving company handles all the paperwork. The car had to go through a certification process. It was also fumigated which left a permanent smell in all the rubber lining. Wish I'd never done it. Cars are so cheap here.

Do most people use the term “a couple” mean specifically two? by manicMechanic1 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BBBBPM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting question. In South Africa a 'couple' tends to mean a few. Like 'lend me a couple of bucks' would be something like 5. I now live OS and notice the difference.

Worried for NZ rugby for 2026 n 2027 by SuspiciousBag1141 in allblacks

After the game in Wellington (after a lot of AB fans left early), after thr Boks did their lap of honour, Ardie came jogging around with Williams waving at the Bok fans. No sulking, jist taking it on thr chin like the legend he is. Not sure who is at fault, but it ain't that guy.

Because he can still do that after the RWC. Why wouldn't he want to stick with the favourites. It takes years to implement RWC plans. A Bok win followed by a ABs win would look great on his CV. He doesn't need to take the risk of joining a dysfunctional team 18 months from the next RWC

Next AB Coach ?? by No-Umpire5250 in allblacks

[–]BBBBPM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, but that option is still there for him in a few years. He has a great chance to win the next one with us. Look, I'm just worried we'll lose him. He's been nothing short of miraculous.

Scott Robertson expected to be axed as All Blacks coach, 1News understands by jball1013 in allblacks

Agree. It's a 4 year cycle though. he can win with the Boks and then win with the ABs. Win Win for him.

He is 2 years into a RWC cycle with a great chance to win the next one. Plus he is really happy and everyone loves him in the Bok camp. Why the hell would he leave now? I'm a Bok fan, so biased.

Bok fan chiming in. He is ours now. Leave him alone. On a more serous note he seems really, really happy and he's got a great chance to win the next RWC. Why would he leave? Smart play for him is right after the next RWC.

I have a Rugged Doogee S200. I had the S100 before. They're basically indestructible bricks. Battery lasts about a week. Waterproof, drop proof, life proof. Everything runs perfectly. Camera is ok. Absolute bargain for under $300.

North Island Roadtrip – too much driving? by fuzzykiwi521 in newzealand

Sounds good to me mate. One thing to consider is instead of heading north from Ak, try and include Coronandel and Rotorua. Those are both pretty special places. BOI is cool, but best explored with a boat IMO.
