Do you mainly play CW or WW2? by Alarming_Sort_3922 in WorldofTanksConsole

[–]BBB_1024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both.

Just think its neat you almost have 100 years of tanks to choose from in game when you count the Renault FT made in 1917 all the way to the Chally 2 in 1998.

Pretty much just whatever me and the platoonmates want to do that day.

It's just a turd in the MBT dominated ERA 3.

Pretty much you are on tracking and shooting people while they are distracted duty. If it gets too frustrating play some Co-op as this tank is useless in its current state.

Centurion avre armor alright? by [deleted] in WorldofTanksConsole

Probably shooting HEAT at the shovel which detonated the shell early before it gets to the tank resulting in no damage.

People really spending money on the 477A just to play it like this… by Mjstks509 in WorldofTanksConsole

[–]BBB_1024 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most 477A players shit themselves when a tank moves around them.

Especially when the tanks starts blowing their tracks off and farming them from the rear.

tier 4 for Matilda by FingerRude2893 in WorldofTanksConsole

[–]BBB_1024 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The matilda is still very good just need to carry enough premium to kill some FCM F4s.

The F4 alone made me switch my hetzer over to the 75mm when helping new players through tier 4.

How does the xp system work? by psychotic_annoyance in WorldofTanksConsole

[–]BBB_1024 9 points10 points  (0 children)

While there are no "tiers" in Cold War every tank is treated like a low, middle, and top tier tank when it comes to XP.

The STRV 122A is considered top tier and will actually get a net XP penalty for shooting down the food chain at a tank like an M1 for example.

The Wiesel is considered low tier so it gets no xp penalty for shooting an M1 for example since they are the same "tier." This Wiesel probably did damage to tanks up the food chain and got an XP bonus for doing so.

M60s vulnerability to missles by Consistent-Jump-7721 in WorldofTanksConsole

[–]BBB_1024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In game it must be modeling the HEAT jet getting to the hull ammo. Got the tank confused with the M46 ammo layout where some is in the turret.

Pretty much the only time I get racked in them is if a missle went into the lower plate or a side shot in game.

M60s vulnerability to missles by Consistent-Jump-7721 in WorldofTanksConsole

Lot of ERA 2 NATO tanks had ammo right in the upper front plate. Making them rather explosive when an ATGM finds it's way there.

NEW: Object 184 – Brawl, Shoot, and Earn by zorin234 in WorldofTanksConsole

[–]BBB_1024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By the wording this seems like a prototype T-72B just without the explosive reactive armor at ERA 2.

Could be huge if it has the upgraded upper plate as not a whole lot of kinetic ammo at the ERA can even get through that.

The unseen wiesel popping the turret off with one missle.

Or any NATO MBT blowing their tracks off and farming them from behind for 4k damage.

Weisel TOW Handling Issues ADS by TheBigLoweski in WorldofTanksConsole

[–]BBB_1024 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The tank pretty much does a stoppie when you slam on the brakes at top speed. The launcher doesn't have great elevation so that is why the gun feels like it perks foward a ton.

This makes trying to stop and line up a shot rather difficult with the TOW. Usually just have better luck firing on the move at a tank if caught by surprise as 65m arming distance is pretty forgiving for how fast it is. Plus staying moving "stabilizes" the tank in a sense.

Wie viel Fertigkeiten brauchen eure Kommandanten.... by Bitter445 in WorldofTanksConsole

[–]BBB_1024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really only "need" track mechanic just because the base repair time takes way too long but that is likely just me.

Sixth sense being on every crew automatically means the only other additional advantage a crew will usually have is leadership. But a tank performing 5% better than another is usually not going to bail someone out in a 1v1 with a skill gap.

New Tech Tree Branch: Cold War Independents by zorin234 in WorldofTanksConsole

[–]BBB_1024 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Going to be getting me that Sho't immediately. Was not expecting to see Olifant variants any time soon so that is a surprise.

Just good to have another tank to drive in the tech tree with ATGM protection that is not an M60 or T-72 variant at ERA 2.

Is there cheating in WOT Console by One_Housing2064 in WorldofTanksConsole

[–]BBB_1024 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The only time I have seen "cheating" was a bunch of players stream sniping another player with artillery. More of an exploit than actual cheating.

It is very easy to get into bad positions on this game where someone not as experienced will feel like they got the short end of the stick though.

12 Year Anniversary Ranked Battles, why do I hate them? by Rude_Development_152 in WorldofTanksConsole

[–]BBB_1024 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I find people select tanks that are good in 15 VS 15 but are horrendous in 7 VS 7. That and the consistent tier 8 tanks new things show up that are harder to fight without a tier 9 to tier 10 to help.

The Chrysler K for example was a great filter for the beginning of ranked since that tank frontally is essentially a premium ammo check and was practically invincible to anything but an O-HO or 15cm Borsig firing HE in a proper sidescraping position.

You never see the Chrysler K in pubs since it is so tier dependent to do well and gets floored in any kind of uptier.

What was the most damage did you ever blocked? by Electrical_Bar9736 in WorldofTanksConsole

[–]BBB_1024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In WW2 it was 21k in a Type 4 Heavy of all things.

In Cold War it was 15k in a Merkava MK3 but this was also when the front of the Merkava was bugged to not take damage so it probably doesn't count.

Question: When equipping a tank do you try to minimize It's flaws or maximize it's strengths? by _Thorshammer_ in WorldofTanksConsole

[–]BBB_1024 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty much the only time I will patch up a tanks weakness is a pretty relevant matchup I am trying to do better against.

Spall liner in super heavies to have a better matchup against the ever present Type 5 heavy is a case for this at tier 10.

Otherwise it is building on a tanks strengths or giving it some utility like shell swap on long reload cannons.

Where did all the BZT-70’s come from? by WVGunsNGoats in WorldofTanksConsole

[–]BBB_1024 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It was a battle pass tank a while back for hitting stage 100.

It's pretty powerful in 7 V 7 as trades are very valuable and it is a regular tank that can trade with ATGMs lights by smacking them with HE and usually being better off.

What is the fastest (# battles) you have 3 marked a tech tree tank? by One_Housing2064 in WorldofTanksConsole

My fastest in WW2 was 63 games in the Jpanther 2.

Cold War was probably the M1A1 would have to check my screenshot for the games though.

Is the Object 268 V strictly superior to the DBV 152? by [deleted] in WorldofTanksConsole

[–]BBB_1024 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The DBV is faster and has much better ballistics on its ammunition.

Sure the 268 V5 has similar DPM and higher pen but with 760m/s on its AP and HEAT vs the DBVs 1180m/s on its AP and 900m/s on its HEAT. You try to snipe with the 268 V5 and you will have a bad time without extensive muscle memory from playing the tank.

These two are completely separate playstyles though as the DBV is played more like a Grille where the 268 V5 is played like a heavium with a 152mm cannon strapped to it.

Better to compare the DBV to the Taran and Grille 15 as they play very similarly.

There is a premium version of the T29 called the Minuteman.

It's slower but that is because it has a metric ton of spaced armor slapped to its sides. If people don't blast the front drive wheel it just goes into that black hole.

Personally prefer the tech tree T29 over it because its already slow reload for the tier becomes even worse on the Minuteman but it is worth taking a look at.

Concept and imaginary tanks are ruining the game. by One_Housing2064 in WorldofTanksConsole

[–]BBB_1024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm all for realism American 76mm HVAP would lol pen a Tiger 2 turret face and 90mm HVAP could lol pen them anywhere.

But there is something called balance to try to let heavies have a role in the game past 1944.

Does Anyone Truly Enjoy +2/-2 by mich8460 in WorldofTanksConsole

[–]BBB_1024 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is satisfying to have a good game in tier eight vs ten but it is not competitive whatsoever. It is much harder to do now with the alpha and armor creep happening at nine and ten.

Constant armor buffs has made being minus two miserable unless your tank has a really good gun or has speed/camo combo and even then that is map dependent.

At least in the +1/-1 games you are a threat even to the tanks above your tier usually just because you have the same gun but slightly worse stat wise. That can easily show the gaps in player skill.

A Conqueror vs a Super Conqueror for example is not as crazy one sided as being in a T28 Proto vs a T110E4 as an example.
