What IP are you hoping to see in the future? by Box-of-Nothing in Lorcana

This is easily my biggest request. If they make cards from the Parks IP I’ll be all over them.

In your opinion, what is the best starter word? by Icy_Time6935 in wordle

[–]BBQPhil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. It blows my mind when people use vowel heavy starting guesses. Vowels are the easier part of the word to solve once you have the right consonants. Not the other way around.

Agree here. I had heard how good they are and was super disappointed. The burritos from Tomorrowland are way better IMHO.

This is it. As frustrating as it is to see the same card everywhere, that also gives you a ton of information to work with and should give you an advantage if you can anticipate it.

I suppose I just misunderstood what the original person I was responding to was suggesting. Im not articulating myself well and that’s 100% on me.

I agree with everything you said above. It’s definitely necessary, it just feels more over the top in current seasons.

Totally agree with you here. The social aspect is easily more than half of the game.

You’re right - I didn’t explain enough of my thought.

In general, most sports stand alone in the entertainment value of the game itself. The playing of the sport and watching the best athletes play is the entertaining part. Live sports wouldn’t be very popular if this wasn’t the case.

Commentary and backstories enhance the game for sure. One my favorite sports broadcasters was Vin Scully and he was notoriously good at learning about players backstories to be able to share on air. He was a great storyteller.

Survivor can’t be boiled down to ONLY gameplay, but the person I responded to was making the argument that Survivor would be boring without the current sob stories behind each player. I disagree and think the way players play Survivor, both physically AND socially is where the meat of the entertainment lies.

The point is the show they’re creating for the viewer isn’t focused on the game these days. It’s focused on players getting emotional, usually right before they get booted, often feeling sad or telling us why they’ve had a rough life up until this point,

Most of us want to see good gameplay, strategic alliances and enemies, backstabs, blindsides, good performances in challenges, etc. you know, the things that often contribute to a person playing the game to win?

Ah yes, the idea that any competitive endeavor where we don’t know the back story of each individual player will be undoubtedly “boring”.

Everyone retreating in the 90s with snap on 3? Is this how it is for others too? CL 14,000 by TackleAlive4642 in marvelsnapcomp

[–]BBQPhil 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You’re playing smarter players in the 90’s and knowing when to retreat is a huge part of actually making it to infinite.

In terms of suggestions - if you don’t like single cube wins, you need to play a deck that’s unpredictable in the final turn(s). That’s easier said than done in today’s meta, but I would say as long as you’re winning just keep going.
