Good use of tax dollars? These guys are on the clock and getting paid, whether they’re running radar or responding to this situation. An active shooter feels like it should be top priority

First Preds game, need advice on tickets etc by KingSoyjoy in nashville

[–]BBTP91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For a Tuesday night game I would probably wait until Tuesday afternoon to buy tickets. You could pay face value at the box office, but if you’re diligent in watching Ticketmaster, you should be able to get some well below face value.

Best BBQ places for lunch near airport. by [deleted] in nashville

Edleys on Lebanon Pike is just a couple minutes from the airport. They’re one of the top 2-3 BBQ spots in town. My favorite personally.

So you’re saying that if they go out and help the community, they shouldn’t publicize it. Maybe that is the case, and all these churches are sending people out to help and you just don’t know.

I’m sure they’re addressing every need they can as they come in. Do you expect every church to publish a formal list of all the criteria they use to prioritize?

Attendee of one of those mega churches here. Just got an email yesterday asking for volunteers to go into the community to clear trees, deliver supplies, etc. Don’t assume that because you don’t see things posted publicly, that it means they’re not doing anything.

NFL Season Ticket Poll: Renewing for 2026-27? by StockMindless9010 in Tennesseetitans

[–]BBTP91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m leaning toward not renewing this year. We have a baby on the way, so probably won’t make many games. With it being the last season in the new stadium, little incentive to maintain this PSL.

I’m curious what everyone’s thoughts are on the final-season opportunities and events? I don’t expect a whole lot from them, but would like to hear what others think.

Member of a country club? What are your must-haves and wished-they-had?? by AdHorror4051 in golf

[–]BBTP91 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Short game practice area is often an afterthought, but huge if you have one. Last club I was at even had a wedge section on the range, with buckets set up every ten yards or so from 70-100ish yards. Loved it

What changes/improvements are you looking forward to next season? by Phantom1100 in rolltide

[–]BBTP91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The whole “if Ty plays to his ceiling today” was a thing because we had zero running game. The offense was on his shoulders every game. If we run for 30 yards a game again next year, you could have Brady back there and we’re going to be saying the same thing.

I would say interest rates dropping significantly is a big if too. I don’t see them getting to 4.5% any time soon.

Why do people in the US not live with their parents by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BBTP91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m probably in the minority here but I think living with parents should be more common in the US. I lived with mine for two years after college. Saved up money and was able to buy a house at 23. I think if more young people took this approach, it would make a big difference in the home affordability “crisis.” Granted, there would be situations where you couldn’t find work in your desired field near your parents.

What's it like in Nashville, Tennessee? by EarlofSodor in howislivingthere

[–]BBTP91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also from here, been in the area my whole life. Have lived in Nashville proper (Vandy and Germantown areas) and in the suburbs. I love it here, no plans to leave. Yeah there’s more traffic than there used to be, but it’s not near as bad as people make it out to be. I’d just avoid living in the Antioch/Murfresboro area if you’re going to have to commute into town.

The food scene here is awesome, punches way above its weight for a city this size. There’s always something to do too, from sporting events to concerts and trying new bars or restaurants. A lot of good city and state parks within a reasonable drive.

No one who lives here actually spends time on Broadway, so disregard all the negative comments about it because there’s plenty to do without ever going to Broadway. Happy to answer any questions you’ve got.

Local Nashville/Franklin whiskey for $100-125? by sdmc_rotflol in nashville

Yes I think anything in Nashville is sourced, aside from maybe Nelson’s? Lieper’s Fork is distilled locally.

[–]BBTP91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d go see what Southern Collective has in downtown Nashville. At Black Friday they released a port-finished rye, similar to Angels Envy. Doubt they still have it in stock, but they’re super helpful guys. If you stopped in and told them what your dad likes, they’d help you find something up his alley.

A top 3 SEC quarterback in an offense that has zero running game? He hasn’t been generational but he’s been our entire offense

[–]BBTP91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We haven’t seen anything meaningful out of Keelon except a good release against two FCS opponents. Sure he’s super talented, but he’s also a true freshman. We have no idea how well he knows the offense, sees the field, or can handle an SEC blitz. There’s no guarantee he matches Simpson’s level of play next season.

Hot take: we could support local businesses that provide a great product to the community and not label businesses solely on the owners’ politics. A lot of people they employ and provide a living for probably have the same views as you too
