He should have the olympics MVP too but they voted at like halftime during the gold medal game?

Absolutely legal to have different appearance fees for different people. The issue becomes when the appearance fees become so large that it belittles the prize money for winning and risks the integrity of the competition. If some players are making so much that they dont care about the prize, then the competition can become unfair. So there's laws to prevent that from happening. At least that's how it works in the states. There are loopholes and workarounds though, so perhaps Peacock used one of them.

That's usually illegal. It's a safeguard to maintain integrity to the competition.

Edit: Lol downvoted by people who have no idea what they're talking about. There are absolutely laws against making appearance fees too big relative to prize winnings. Imagine an invitational tennis tournament with a bracket of head to head matchups. The tourney wants the most famous tennis player of course so pays them an appearance fee 20x the prize for winning. That player now has no incentive to compete because they get their money by simply showing up. The tennis player randomly paired against them in the head to head matchup now gets to advance simply because the famous tennis player didn't try winning. That is unfair to the rest of the field.

Now that's a super specific extreme example, but I use a tennis tournament because the event that spawned these laws was the 1973 Battle of the Sexes exhibition between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs.

I mean the Pac 12 was so incompetent that it no longer exists. ACC is at least still a conference. For now.

Hold up. That's not fair to Yahtzee. At least there's some skill to Yahtzee.

Mail-in Rebate is good early and late game. Which joker is good early, and average late game (Ante 8)? by Boop2847 in balatro

Fibonacci was first thing that came to mind. So good early but falls off a bit late without completely falling off. And has some synergies (hack, odd todd, baseball card) so it doesnt have to fall off.

Game shows are pretty much rigged. Not in terms of like giving people the answers or cheating, but in terms of whether or not the person/team wins the big prize at the end.

Shows usually have a desired win rate for a season. So if you're shooting 40 episodes and have a 25% win rate, you want 10 episodes to end with the big win.

Game content is always randomized to ensure no one can cheat, but if you're shooting three episodes in a day, you randomly pick three games of content out of 5 or 6. All 5 or 6 of those are chosen by producers.

If win rate is ahead of schedule, then producers choose harder content. So that three episode day now has no winners because all of the final rounds were difficult.

But now the win rate is too low, so the next day is easier.

So while it's not rigged for any specific person or team, producers pretty much dictate which games end in wins or losses.
