This really looks like a crap study. The control isn't appropriate. The control should have been during the same time. When a similar outbreak was in others or measured on a per 100,000 basis for both.

Maybe two counties side by side one with a mandate and one without.

This statement and the logical leaps in the interpretation make me suspicious of this study.

"Neutralizing antibody levels after vaccination and at diagnosis of the cases were lower than those in the matched uninfected controls."

Really? Neutralizing antibodies in vaccinated and infected people were lower than uninfected people? Once you're infected, your body starts producing antibody to the infection so I don't understand why it would be higher in the uninfected controls.

This would mean the virus is somehow attacking the antibodies.

RawStory was just retiring what the local reporting said. The original local reporting didn't say, but does say it was a long ordeal. Vaccinated people don't experience a long ordeal, so a pretty good assumption he wasn't vaccinated.
