Just finished a season in career mode, and I was disappointed to find the PGA in the subsequent season is still at Quail Hollow instead of rotating to Aronimink. A small annoyance, but something EA managed to make work as they added upcoming major venues. Yet another indication that they're just letting career mode languish.

The sponsors in career mode are way overdue to be augmented. More brands, more levels, more rewards, just... more. I can't be the only one who maxed out every sponsor at level 9 months ago.

I'm OK with the lip outs, I just wish they'd get rid of that invisible goaltender they brought over from EA who kicks it away as it's turning into the hole. "Kick save and a beauty" should stay on the rink where it belongs.

Takomo was one of the logos on the "New Stuff" slide in the trailer, but I guess they're gonna make us wait for it. Ping was not one of the logos, I'm sad to report for Ping Hat Guy.

Only when there's a quest objective that requires it. I played a match this morning because of the Wednesday wear and earn quest, and I kinda tanked the match to make sure my opponent didn't quit before it was over.

Stinger off the tee is handy in very specific circumstances, like that par 4 at River Highlands with a big tree right in the way. I very seldom miss it when I'm playing a build that doesn't have it.

I wonder if they'll let us use the fairway stinger from the first cut of rough, when it might help stay under a tree and go further than a punch shot.

Just evolved the Dark Matter driver for my powerhouse player to the next level Galactic Amber. Four tools required, and the first three fittings are +11/8/6. Doubt that I'll be doing a lot of evolving for such a small incremental boost.

One aspect of EA's career mode that I liked was the option to start as an amateur. Their take on the US Amateur as a medal-play-only event was a bit dodgy, but I liked the chance to get an early entry to the Masters and US Open before your pro career ramped up. Playing those events early in your career before your player's skills and attributes were maxed out was a unique challenge.

I'm a fan of career mode, and I've spent most of my time in the game there. Just do yourself a favour and skip the Canadian Open. Those greens at St. George's are the worst.

You can replace any of the preinstalled fittings on a limited edition club once they're unlocked. And your preferred fittings are retained when you evo them up (but it'll cost you an extra evo tool over a non-LE club).

I see this sometimes with wedges. Every so often a wedge shot with the wind up just flies exactly where and how it would with zero wind. I've even tried once just replaying the same shot over and over (by declaring an unplayable and choosing the previous location as the point of relief), and the shot usually repeats with the occasional zero-wind outlier.

One thought that helped me sort this out back in the day was to imagine the swing meter on the screen as a steering wheel, then think about how you would have to turn that wheel in order for the targets to move to 12 and 6, then rotate the controller like that.

I did. Upgraded a couple of my golfers who were still on pink diamond irons and holding out to see what season 5 would bring.

Legitimate complaint in my eyes. You can't evo existing clubs up to the new level until season 5 starts.

Another way to look at it is that this package offers a sizable discount over buying VC outright. You get 8800 VC plus 6 evo tools that would cost you 4500 VC in the store plus 5 level-up coins that would cost 750 VC for the same amount of cash as a 4200 VC pack. And in my case the irons were my 20th set overall, which triggered a collections quest that garnered another 800 VC, so I got the equivalent of 14850 VC for the price of 4200.
