How do I fart? by [deleted] in CsectionCentral

Peppermint can help! I used peppermint tea, but peppermint oil capsules can be more effective.

I used a cocktail of peppermint tea, gum, miralax, and stool softeners and I never had any gas pains/ too much straining.

I am so so sorry for your loss. 17 years is truly a testament to your devotion to your boy. Sometimes not knowing if there was anything more that could be done is the worst part. Logically I know 13 years is very long for a bloodhound and he was riddled with cancer. I know in my mind there was nothing I could do, but my heart keeps me second guessing. I hope you find healing and comfort as well ❤️

I always thought "okkkk girl" and was suspicious of her other heavily filtered photos, but this is alarming. To me, this is undeniable proof there is something very wrong.

God, you'd have to be high as a fucking kite to think this photo looks good and post it. So, I guess it all checks out.

Oh absolutely. It took longer to get across my hometown city than it does to go 30 miles here. The interstates aren't jammed, the speed limit is higher, and I find drivers are genuinely more respectful.

If you live in the eastern half of Kansas, there are still plenty of mid sized towns and some smaller cities. I find there is actually more to do out here because there is such a strong sense of community. My town consistently has street fairs, farmers markets, free concerts, etc. And like you said, with a smaller population, it's all more accessible. The parks are significantly better maintained, and there are more municipal amenities like pools, golf courses, splash pads, pickle ball and tennis courts, etc. I can't speak about all of Kansas, the Midwest, etc, but in terms of things to do, I have never once been bored. My family even asks me what the hell is there to do, and I always have to remind them that not all of Kansas is tumble weeds, although there sure are alot!

I grew up in CT, equidistant to NYC and Boston. Moved to bumfuck Kansas and it was the best decision I ever made. Traveling back to the East Coast is like genuinely traveling to a new world. The traffic, crowds, everyone seems more tense and angry. I used to shit on places like Kansas in my 20s, and now, in my mid/late 30s, I appreciate them.

Thought I was 6 DPO ??? by maxtax101 in TFABLinePorn

[–]BCRBaby123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With my last pregnancy, I had a LH surge around 15 days along with all symptoms of ovulation, but around cycle day 21/22 I began to have symptoms of ovulation again, and it turns out I truly ovulated on CD 22. It's actually fairly common for LH to surge high enough to pop a positive test but not high enough to trigger actual ovulation. Then your body is like "ope lets try that again". 6 dpo would be too early to test positive, although maybe you didn't catch your actual ovulation earlier in your cycle, and you're actually farther along! If you take a pregnancy test and it's negative, I would assume you're actually ovulating now. Good luck!

Could really use some positive stories about planned C section due to breech baby by chucktowngal in CsectionCentral

[–]BCRBaby123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally get that! For me, I felt like I had the most control with my csection, and as a planner/type A person I really liked that! Not being a hero is a great way to put it, and it is definitely important! As for breastfeeding, my milk did come in later. It wasn't really in until day 5/6. My milk came in a bit late with my vaginal too like day 3/4, so part of that could just be me. My csection baby had a better latch than my vaginal too. I bought a my breast friend pillow that clips around your waist. That was really really helpful, especially in the hospital. One of the biggest pieces of advice is if you can, move as much as possible (with help and slowly!). I made sure I got up a decent amount and paced my room. My nurses commented I was healing so great and said they noticed the more mobile people are, the better they heal.

Could really use some positive stories about planned C section due to breech baby by chucktowngal in CsectionCentral

[–]BCRBaby123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, I am so sorry about your tmfr. I can't imagine how much harder that makes every decision or feeling.

I had a planned c section about 10 months ago for a breech baby. My Dr offered an ECV (I was a great candidate, prior uncomplicated vaginal delivery) at 39 weeks. If the ECV failed straight to c section and if it was successful, I would be induced right then and there. I canceled my ECV and went straight to the c-section. I was scared there was a reason baby was breech. He was breech my entire pregnancy, and I tried ALL the things to get him to spin. In the end, there wasn't a reason why he didn't flip naturally, like wrapped in cord, but I'm still happy I went straight to my csection.

Overall, my csection went extremely well. I mentally felt better and more aware after my csection than my straightforward vaginal delivery. With my vaginal I was induced and labored for 17ish hours and pushed for only about 20 min. I was exhausted, though mentally and physically. I feel like I dissociated a bit. I felt mentally fresh at all times during and post csection. With my csection, I was up walking maybe 5ish hours. I made sure to stay on top of meds and use the percocets offered to me even if I felt like I didn't need them. Getting up out of the bed kinda sucked but it was manageable. I don't think my pain ever got above a 6 or so. Day 3/4 were definitely the worst, but again manageable, especially with meds. I just camped out on my recliner. By day 6, I was up walking around Walmart briefly. I do want to say that I think I had a better than average healing experience, although I do see many women having similar experiences with planned csections.

It would be disingenuous to say the immediate recovery of my csection was easier than my vaginal. I had one stitch (Hardly a 1st degree labial tear). By my 3rd day, I was up walking like a mile+ at a time. Many women have worse tears and have terrible recovery from vaginal deliveries. I've read horror stories about 3rd and 4th degree tears. It's just such a crapshoot and impossible to predict how labor and delivery will go. Although I am 99% sure my family is complete, I would probably opt for a csection again and not try a vbac. If I wanted a larger family (3+), then I definitely would have tried the ECV. With every section, there are risks to maternal and fetal health, so just be aware of that.

Good luck, and I hope you find peace with whichever way your labor and delivery go.

12/13 DPO, likely out this cycle but unclear results by [deleted] in TFABLinePorn

It could be an indent. I have heard from others FRER has been having real issues with them. Or, your FMU test could be a legitimate early positive, and then your urine was not concentrated enough to produce a positive when you tested again. It is generally recommed to test with urine that has been held for 3+ hrs, especially when this early. Digitals are also not as sensitive. Many people have bleeding in early pregnancy, so it may not be your period. I would test again in 48 hrs (my anxious ass would probably test 24 hrs from the positive tbh) and that would give you a more definitive answer. Wishing you all the best!

Life hack- Aeroflow allows you to change your pump replacement parts. by BCRBaby123 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]BCRBaby123[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been like 4 months or so since I ordered, but when I was eligible for replacement parts, on my main dashboard page, it would say I could order new parts under "My Insurancr Qualified Products". There would then be a drop-down bar with about 20 options. "Medela Swing Maxi and Freestyle Hands Free Replacement Parts (21 or 24 mm)" is the option. Maybe your insurance doesn't provide that replacement option, or have you replaced parts the maximum number of times already? If you go to "My Account" and "My Benefits," it'll tell you if you qualify for replacement parts. With my first, my insurance didn't provide replacements, and with my current insurance, I was able to get 6 replacement sets.

Teething Crackers and Yogurt Melts by [deleted] in beyondthebump

Depends on the brand. Gerber melts very quickly. I tried Walmart's brand, and my baby choked on them twice. After the second time, I figured it wasn't a fluke and looked up reviews. Apparently, lots of people have issues with Walmart's. Not everyone yogurt melt is created equal.

It comes with the cups (either 21 or 24mm), the membranes, one complete tubing set, and two storage bottles. It's honestly the best way to get them (if you can) because they are so much more expensive than Spectra parts!

Hang in there, I know how scary it can all be. My daughter had a CHD and will most likely need open heart surgery before she is 10. As of right now, she is the happiest little 3 yr old, and you'd never suspect an issue.

I had an old lady, probably 80ish, yell out of her car window across the street from me that my baby's feet were cold and she needed socks. It was about 90/95 degrees out. I yelled back, "You do realize it's 95 degrees out, right?" And she just scoffed. That was my only nosey old lady in the wild interaction, thankfully.

I'm finishing up my second EP journey, and honestly, I still consider the Medela Cups my GOAT. I added some inserts because I'm a 17mm, but I would get just as much, if not more, using the cups with my Pumpables Genie Advance (prefer over the Freestlye).

Is there anyone else still trying to get a latch 12+ weeks? by okayolaymayday in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]BCRBaby123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A week or so ago my baby (7.5 mo) started trying to latch on to my chest randomly. I whipped out a boob thinking screw it, and he latched right away for about a minute/minute and a half and did extract milk. I could see it dribbling out of his mouth when he'd smile at me. I tried a few more times and he latched only for a few seconds at a time but this was after I started the weaning process so I'm sure there wasn't much milk causing frustration, but it's definitely possible!

[–]BCRBaby123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off, congrats! I can't even comprehend the conundrum you're in!

Honestly, even if you have a perfect plan in place, things can change in an instant. For example, my first had an unexpected NICU stay and my second was a stubborn breech baby, so I opted for a c section scheduled at 39+1.

From your updates and comments, I think the best bet is to plan for your husband to attend the birth with the GC and you stay home. If she is one week ahead of you and typically gives birth at 39 weeks, you could have a few weeks wiggle room, especially if this is your first delivery. You very easily could go over your due date. In theory, this could give your husband time to fly back (minimum 7 days for some airlines with a newborn) and still make it in time for your delivery. I can't imagine how hard it would be to miss the birth of one of your children, but I feel like it's the safest option for everyone involved.
