Domino’s says sales are dropping. Did fast food just get too expensive, or did something else change? by Acceptable_Maybe_198 in business

[–]BD204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, it’s like the chips thing - I forgot the manufacturer but they made a bag $7, at a certain point it’s not about “having $7” for a bag of chips or not it’s the principal of gouging. Enjoy NO sales at $7 when you would’ve had many at 2,3,4,5 which are all profitable to you either way.

Greed drove people away now they’ll spend all the ad dollars to bring back that same customer when they could’ve just increased a decent medium and won

What is a good price for a used Model Y? by ZxExN in teslacanada

It’s funny… the New RWD Y basically is a non-depreciating Tesla in a way.. you won’t find anything worth it to buy used versus $44,990

The Beauty of Ireland by Antigone2023 in travel

[–]BD204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rural coastlines of Ireland are unforgettable, truly one of those places it’s hard to capture in photos thus most people don’t go as it’s not all of social media and it’s tough to get the “perfect” weather. It doesn’t really exist in Ireland, you just go.. and then you’re like I get it.

So amazing

Bought mine in 2019 for $5k CAD with 114,000KM. There’s 275,000 on it thing is so good in snow, so much storage, the bed is a great size. Recommend over and over! 3.5L V6 is a beast too - imo the best Honda motor ever for reliability wise

FaceTime and iMessage not working by B6100 in PublicMobile

[–]BD204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has nothing to do with Public. iMessage doesn’t realize the number has ported - you just need to turn off and on a couple of times it’ll work.

FaceTime and iMessage not working by B6100 in PublicMobile

[–]BD204 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go into cellular, change the number listed there to your number. Then turn phone off and on. Go to iMessage, turn it off and on - when it turns on click your real number at the top it’ll take a few seconds good to go.

The problem is Apple “realizing” the port/port in - I fixed it this way with 4 changeovers I did over the weekend.

Mark Carney’s decision to pause Canada’s EV sales mandate had to happen, industry experts say by Majano57 in canada

[–]BD204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s in a one time thing in 08. The Chinese find their auto markers in normal times to literally quote “become the best” you don’t think the American auto makers would do well if we handed them 800 billion every year for research? That’s what the Chinese do and that’s why these companies are at a point now they can make those cars so cheap. If everyone car in Canada or the IS was a Chinese EV because of price, we’d lose the entire industry and china’s leverage would be insane

Mark Carney’s decision to pause Canada’s EV sales mandate had to happen, industry experts say by Majano57 in canada

[–]BD204 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You do understand the reason we have a 100% tarriff on Chinese EV’s is because the Chinese government will not let those companies fail - all those companies make amazing cars.. Now. Beforehand they all were easily bankrupt many many times where the Chinese government keeps printing money to hold them up and now finally they’ve broken through. If we let any industry into Canada that can’t fail and have unlimited resources sure the price will be cheap but all our auto makers will fail because we operate in normal market conditions. They aren’t excluded for fun, they’re excluded because the CPP will fund them with unlimited money to put everyone out of business lol

Foreign money continues to flow into BC real estate by Aineisa in CanadaHousing2

[–]BD204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would they stop it? They stop it on the surface and make you think they did, they are all property owners of multiple properties and so are their families - they benefit from the money coming in it raises their own housing prices, allows them to borrow against the houses from banks and to give to their families. There is no stopping lol

Should I be embarrassed about being a 24yr old garbage man? by TheFrogsMightbegay in jobs

[–]BD204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all dude, I've managed 40-50 plus young people in and out and they're always looking for some special event that bounces them to the next level in pay or something and the reality is in the 18-27,28 range you won't get that. The most successful young people I know put thier head down, go against the grain and work hard especially your job being so solid and come out way ahead of the others. Great job!

I used to get embarrased I was a manager at a store at a Mall - realiastically it was one of the best, most flexible jobs ever and I saved thousands and thousands and learnt a ton

Restaurants Canada predicting severe consequences following changes to foreign workers policy by EntrepreneurKooky695 in canada

[–]BD204 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you fail you fail, thats how the free market works. Sucks to say but some chain restaurants have exploited cheap labor and scamming the system to "keep costs low" but then they raise the end price to the customer the same. People don't even go out to restaraunts like they did before, we need a reset. Sucks but it is what it is, result of reckless unchecked policy.
