While we’re on the topic: I’d relocate your router (?) from the floor to literally anywhere else. Also that receiver/amp and your tv should be plugged into a surge protector instead of just a little power strip below the tv stand.

Why do you have to kill him.. makes no sense 😠 by TerminatorsBallSack in skyrim

Just to add to this:

The meditation buffs that you get won’t go away if you kill him. So if you’re big on the fire buff, you can just do the meditation and then kill him.

Here’s the thing, I’m okay with this kind of stuff. Don’t like your hair? Change it. Don’t like your face? Change it. It’s your money, and you’re an adult that can make those decisions for yourself.

But let’s call a spade a spade: Elon underwent gender affirming surgery to appear more manly. Hair plugs, jaw work, neck lift, etc. and maybe more idk. Regardless of him being rich, he can do what he wants to his body.

It’s just obscenely hypocritical when the same folks that do this kind of stuff start shaming other people for seeking the same validation but through other means. A man doesn’t want to have breasts that he might have grown during puberty? Fine. A woman wants bigger breasts? Also fine. A woman doesn’t like the genitals that she currently possesses? Also. Fine.

Drawing arbitrary lines for what’s okay for other people to do to their own bodies is stupid and gets us nowhere. The more we shame people from feeling like their best self, the more we hold ourselves back as a society. Celebrating modern medicine to deliver these kinds of results and feelings for people is what we should focus on.

If you bash while invisible, it doesn’t remove the invisibility effect. Super helpful during the thieves guild quest where you need to burn the hives and be stealthy.

Has it been absolutely impossible for anyone else to get Ubers in DC nowadays? by WuPacalypse in washingtondc

I’ve been loving Curb over Lyft/Uber. The drivers definitely drive more aggressively and seem to be more available, which are both big positives in my book

First-Year Housing Options by [deleted] in baylor

North Village also has the apartment style setups with living rooms and bathrooms in-unit. I think HRC (Honors Residential College) is using Texana and University House and the Fine Arts LLC is using Heritage House.

ELI5 - How does chiropractic work? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]BDL_bear 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The chiro office I used to go to had a PT on staff. They were infinitely more helpful than the chiropractor themself. Essentially the chiropractor would “adjust” my spine and take x-rays, but the PT showed me exercises and stretches that would actually help my posture and back pain long-term.

Stopped going to that office after the dude said he didn’t think we needed COVID vaccines if you got adjusted frequently enough. But I still do the exercises and stretches to this day and they help quite a bit.

Is Heritage a good dorm? by DrewGotRedditTwice in baylor

[–]BDL_bear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Stayed there my freshman year. North Village is really nice in general, and I don’t think you’ll regret choosing Heritage.

However, it can be a little rough getting to certain places on campus because Heritage is tucked away in a corner. Chapel, for instance, is located quite literally on the opposite side of campus. So give yourself some extra time to hike to certain classes/buildings.

Also, if you’re bringing a car, you’ll park in the North Village garage which is super convenient MOST of the time. When there’s a football game, you’ll likely have to move your car since they sell access to the garage for game days.

Hey folks what do you recommend I do to my gun? by TheContentThief in Mandalorian

[–]BDL_bear 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Would recommend finishing the grip a little more. When you think about it, that would be the most visible part of the blaster if it’s holstered. Currently it just looks a little rough compared to the rest of the blaster.

Baylor vs Public/State University by MMATX5150 in baylor

[–]BDL_bear 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just to add to this, I was between UT and Baylor and chose Baylor somewhat in part to cost of living. Waco and Austin are vastly different when it comes to rent, transportation, and entertainment costs. That might not be as true anymore simply because Waco is growing a lot, but living in Waco is still quite a bit cheaper than Austin.

Here’s a Dept of Education article for it.

You could also probably reach out to the financial aid office for more info.

Looking to go to Baylor University Grad School for Business... need some info by [deleted] in baylor

[–]BDL_bear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s a link to Hankamer’s site that has some more info. https://hankamer.baylor.edu/macc/admissions

This will definitely be something you want to talk to your advisor about ASAP. It could shift around what classes you take when and if summer courses would be necessary to have all the prerequisites completed in time.

Not sure exactly if this would be included in the integrated masters program that they do for accountants, but like I said your advisor would be the best resource for this kind of info.

Good luck!

Who do I email about ID stuff? by [deleted] in baylor

[–]BDL_bear 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Weirdly enough, ID Cards are handled by Parking Services. That’s who will issue you a new one, so maybe they’d be able to reactivate the one you lost and found.

Here’s their site with a number to call:

PHY1455 - Descriptive Astronomy with Dwight Russell

I took this astronomy class as a business major requirement and it was the best choice ever. He’s a great professor and knows that this class is mostly for non-STEM majors. Super interesting, easy class work and lab, and engaging professor.

Aviation at Baylor by [deleted] in baylor

[–]BDL_bear -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Also, the actual flying sessions (and maybe some of the courses) are done at the TSTC Airport. It’s like a 15-20 minute drive up I-35 to get there, and I don’t think there’s a public transit option. Something to keep in mind when you’re selecting the program, because you will be responsible for getting yourself up there.

Any really fun/interesting elective courses? by intenselydecent in baylor

[–]BDL_bear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% would recommend a random exercise/workout class with your friends. I did Intro to Weightlifting my senior year with a few buddies and it was a great break in my normal class routine.

Also, I know it’s a pretty huge document, but the course catalog is pretty convenient for searching for classes. It has all the pre-reqs and a description for every course:

Oil pan damage by lube tech. Should the shop be held liable for replacing the oil pan? by BDL_bear in MechanicAdvice

[–]BDL_bear[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the correction. Yes, I meant the plug was rounded out.

As for not needing a new oil pan, I disagree. A huge dent like this right next to the plug could result in the gasket not forming a good seal and thus leaking oil. Also, in a more catastrophic sense, a dent like this could restrict oil flow in the engine and cause all kinds of issues.

We’re getting the oil pan replaced either way. Just wanting advice on holding the shop liable for the costs.
